Domanda/Vraag/Frage/Question...I have been previously told that if the star is in front of the S/N, then is is an extended run (greater than 99999999), is this a fact or was someone talking out of their hat?

Good one Duke...I like it... ... I imagine that one has the 'In God We Trust' motto on the back? Actually oih82w8, it depends on what type of note you are looking at; Federal Reserve Notes and Federal Reserve Bank Notes have their stars as a suffix to the serial number. Silver Certificates, Gold Certificates, and United States Notes have their stars as a prefix to the serial number. edited to add: Quote: was someone talking out of their hat? Yeah, and it sounds like it was a ten gallon hat too...

I'm not really a note guy, but I do have some very nice ones. We have a fantastic scanner here at work, maybe a good project for the weekend.

I have about 50 star notes... but nothing fancy... I think the oldest is a 1995... and maybe a few low print runs... I'm actually kind of debating what to do with them because I don't think the ones I have carry that much of a premium. I only pull from circulation.

yeah I'm just more or less debating if I want to keep them, attempt to sell, or just throw em back out into the world. I'll post a few when I get home though.

Did someone say low run notes? This one is from a run of 320K And I was inspired by The Duke's Silver Certificate so I found the ugliest one I have to post And no Zee, it is w/o motto as well. If anyone has any uglier than this one be sure to post it!

Actually Zee, I am not conducting a census... I just got that $10 SC star in my first post and just wanted an excuse to show it off. Oh btw I really like that red seal hundred you posted, the one I have isn't a star though.

Hi all! I don't know a thing about paper currency except how to spend it. I do however have a few. I have four $2.00 bills, two $3.00 bills, one $1,000,000.00 bill, A Haiti UNE GOURDE, and one Japanese 1000 Yen. Mostly I collect world coins, thinking about expanding my paper money though. Anything special about the two dollar bill I posted?

No Jaymon, I personally don't see anything particularly special about it other than the fact that it seems to be in exceptionally great condition.... Very nice... I'm likin' that Chicago note jlg.... three digit notes are far and few between... star or not... another nice bunch of notes....
