Maybe a better written explanation could be used when talking about
hand punching. Make it easier to understand for those who are new to the hobby. I realize it may be just semantics or the incorrect use of
words/phrases etc. No "coin" I know of is hand punched first of all.
Mintmarks, Yes. Older coins as mentioned - mintmarks applied by hand
to die after die was created as to newer coins having the M.M. created
as part of the complete die. Still, a very unusual placement of the M.M.
on this coin. A human still had to decide it's position so he/she needs glasses or a day off :)
I'd keep it. Never know how many got out before someone noticed it. If it was ever noticed that day or days until the die was retired. Convo piece at the least.
