Thank you Bobby131313. It seems there are thousands and thousands of people who think the grading companies are some kind of Gods that don't make mistakes or above scrutiny! Well I know different and it is good to see that others, probably more than we will ever know, have been flat screwed by a grading firm. I have another really good story concerning a coin I submitted for an elderly lady who found the thing after her husband died. This one, been in the family for generations, was beyond rare as only a couple are known and the grading companies are actually afraid of this one! Really burns me up as this kind elderly lady REALLY could use the income and I was so in hopes of doing her a favor. NO LUCK!

No one will here me sing the praises of any grading service. While I believe that they serve a purpose, and I do believe that a few are really trying to do a good and honest job.

I have never heard of a "switch" happening before though. I think that I would have not taken that all too well. Currently the biggest issue that I have with the major services is their promotions of the registry sets. While many view this as a good thing, as one who deals with a lot of these collectors, I can tell you first hand that it is not. While values rise constantly which is good for dealers, it creates an artificial baseline to work from.
Our grading services should be a one dimensional service.

Well put ND. Grade them and get out, so to speak? I really do think, beyond all doubt, that those who really use the grading services very heavily are getting the higher grades a lot easier than someone submitting a coin now and then. Lets face it in the business world you have to take care of your bread and butter to stay in business and competition is keen right now! And they know the average collector can't distingush a MS65 from a MS69! If they could they probably wouldn't rely so much on the grading services in the first place?

Here is one for all of you: BGS (Beckett Grading Service) which is the big gun in grading sports cards, also sells their own graded cards! How's that for a conflict of interest? They get to create the market AND fill the demand that they've created [:0]
