Usually just whatever I come across I compare it to what I've already got, fill any holes I don't have, and keep one of everything.

I'm going to try to stop by a long time friends coin shop sometime before the weekend is out and see his opinion in hand on the 'dipped' possibility. Right now, I'm sticking with #2 unless it's been dipped. Main reasons: Eye appeal, much more head detail on #2 under magnification, and #1 has a dark un-natural streak across the coin coming from the lower right side.

Went to the coin shop today, they agreed, the brighter SLQ had been dipped. Less wear on it though, plus sharper strike. Still can't decide. I'll be listing whichever I don't sell on ebay this weekend.

Since these are so close, I do like the brighter one for the full head and stronger shield. I've listed the toned one on ebay. Thanks for everyone's input.
