Yes I'm saying someone looking for exactly that variety might add ~5-15 dollars to the BV. It's not as common as the normal set, but it does not qualify as scare, just variety.

If you check ebay item number 110662825896 you'll find that one of the larger coin dealers in Canada will sell you that set today for 51.50. Colonial Acres is expensive imo.

Your mileage may vary.

The large beads blunt 5 (Type 3) 1-cent in the 1965 PL set does carry a minor premium. Typically, that coin sells raw or uncertified between $30 and $50. That variety is relatively scarce, but the demand for that variety is low however.

Thanks Ugly (it seems hard to type that) very clear. I'm not a silver collector yet I have about $6 face just hanging around, so I want to set it free and convert it to copper Canadian large cents...

Do any of you Canadian folks have a closeup photo comparing the 1965 one cent with large beads pointed five to the 1965 one cent with small beads and blunt five?

If so, please send me a URL of this side-by-side comparison picture.

Thanks for your help.

You should check for a cent with the pointed 5. If you find one, SPP and I will battle it out gladiator style for the chance to buy it from you. I've yet to physically see credible evidence they even exist, despite a few being in the pop report.

Search the archives. I've scanned and hosted pictures of the fives before, and others here have done so as well with the fives and the beads.
