Great collection there! I like the variety of items. It looks like you've got most of the 1st series of Lunar coins if I'm not mistaken? What are you hoping to acquire next?

Its a great collection, except for the Red Wings coin. I say we melt it down and make a Blackhawk coin.

Yes thanks for all the replies all, and for now I don't plan on selling anything, but who knows what the future will bring. I do plan to hold on to most for many years and continue to add to the collection....

I am about to go to work and I am a bit pressed on time, but later tonight I will add some more pictures, as much of the stuff on the stool you really can't see that well. I am still struggling to find the right light and angle to prevent silver flash glare, and I never new just what a real skill photography was until I began taking digital pictures for ebay sells and what not....

The Me-262 is indeed a great find, the guy had the back pictured, and it also came with another 20 gram Liberia silver, which is Chancellorsville civil war coin, far left in picture, and it was pictured via the front. So it was a great surprise, but I did know its COA said something about World war 2 aviation. I bought those two for 38 total with ebay bucks, major find, about two months back, say 19 bucks each. I think as silver goes up, the 20 gram coins from Liberia can be great silver addition. And as well with the 3/4 gram coins, very collectible IMO. The silver has a very cameo appearance, when silver does creep over 50 an oz., you can still get these at a decent price. I have a Concord and Gemini space coin saved in list, both just under 40 total....

The Me-262 was the first jet airplane to see military battle, via the famous German Luftwaffe. It has its stats on COA. The other coin that appears to be military is a Japanese Zero, with its stats printed on backside, speed, weight, climbing speed, etc. It has some toning and not as beautiful, via the zero, but still a great piece of history. There is also a Charles Lindbergh Spirit of St. Louis bar, with his famous plane on the front. The Me-262 coin is the only one I have seen yet, but using key word combinations in your ebay searches is VERY KEY. One guy may list Worlds smallest gold coin, where another lists Liberia 3/4 gram gold, where the next lists Small gold coin. You gotta make sure you hunt all angles, and the same with hunting for the Silver Liberia aviation coins. All it takes is misspelling era, or one letter off, and the search engine will miss it all together....

On the Lunar coin question, there is 6 original series and 2 more second series, via the Tiger and colored ox. I need 6 more 1st series to complete that most expensive high premium set....

I want to adds a couple 1/10th Eagles next, maybe some Britannia silver and gold gilded I really like. Finish those Lunar sets. And who knows what I might see and find on random searches....

And lastly, I am gonna add some older gold coins as well more of a true currency circulation if you will, even though I look for non-circulated, like the 2.5 Mexican 1945 gold Peso I really like for the coin and price....

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention how to re-size pictures which was another question....

Very easy, click start new thread, then scan down to upload picture. When you click on it, it takes you to new window which has two options to click, via upload, or re-size and upload with the "New" coin forum feature. It has a very simple six step process, that allows you to quickly get the green number in bottom left corner, under 100, say like 75.6 for example. You can then simple right-click to open "save as", and rename it for example resizedLunar1. Letters an numbers only, NO SPACES....

Next when you go back to upload image, click browse, go to where you have it saved, and load it up, and if it is under the 100 max, it will load right up....

This link below takes you to thread that BiggFredd gave me the other site for re-sizing and much more, that you can also use for here, or other places....

And Almost-collectible, I have made some YouTube videos in past, so I can indeed put one together and have it upload in an hour or so. May do that here when time allows....

Hey Hawk. You're starting to make me buy small gold. I just ordered a one tenth oz Proof Eagle from the US Mint. $205 plus $5 shipping. I'll name it "The Hawk Coin".

Wow, thanks Junior e! No greater compliment you can pay one IMO, other than replicate one's stacking strategy so to speak....

The 1/10th gold Eagle is a great coin because it is recognized an sought after by many, and it is not big, nor to small, just right, like Goldie Locks pour-age I say, lol....

I am gonna take some more individual up-close picks of some of the other silver, and upload them in a bit....

Excellent collection and very good pics of it too! Thanks for taking the time to photograph and upload all this. Like everyone else here, I appreciate it.

Have to admit that I really liked that ME-262 coin. It is terrific. My Mom is German, so it is possible that some of her / my relatives worked on or flew those bad boys. It was an amazing aircraft for its day... VERY fuel thirsty but nothing in the air (other than the rocket powered Comet) could keep up with it at the time.

Hey, 'hawk... I was thinking of you today. Wife and I visited Virginia City, NV, and stopped in at their local museum. Great place with lots of old mining tools, machines, photos, etc... and... a case with about 30 Morgans in it. I looked at them and they seemed to be in VF to AU condition. All were 1879-1881 dates, so I bought one of each year. They were $37.50 each and are gorgeous! Yes, they cost more than the silver in them is worth but the historical look and excellent condition made them worth it to me. Will post a pic when we get back from vacation.

Yes Ed I love the history, old museums, and what a great find, Morgans, at a good price IMO. They are 90% correct? So not a bad deal and another good addition. On that stool if you look close, you will See a reproduction Morgan, and I must say its design is fantastic, and you really can't appreciate it until you are looking at it up close in person. I got it from Provident, and it looks very brand new, not a mark on it. Easily one of my favorite pieces, and it is just a reproduction. I would like to have one of those nice cased Carson city versions, that I recently found at the new shop for $125....

I gotta work brunch in the morning ,or I would upload some more up-close pictures of some of the other coins. I will probably get around to it Monday night....

Flook hang in there! Rome was not built in a day, one piece you can afford at a time my friend, and it will add up faster than you think. Keep in mind I am lucky to scratch out 20 grand a year bar-tending/serving, and I bet most of you do much better than that. So if I can stack and still keep the bills paid on that small a budget, just about anyone can....

So do I. It's amazing how much they did way back when, just using their ingenuity and LOTS of hard work!

The funny thing about the Morgans was that I told my wife later on that I toyed with the idea of cleaning out the case... just buy 'em all! She thought that was a decent idea and that really floored me.

Yeah, the Morgans are... hmmm... 0.77 oz. of silver? Something like that, so less than an oz. but still gorgeous coins. I absolutely love the design on the reverse... very classy, IMHO. I will definitely be adding more Morgans to my collection. Might even get one of those blue coin books for a set of them.

Yes, that would be sweet. The CC marked Morgans are not nearly as numerous as the ones from the other mints, so should have some nice collector value. I'll have to keep an eye peeled for any of these that show up in my area.

I saw a Carson Newman today Ed, and it had a $685 price tag on it, geeez, and not in the best shape, like 1885 seems like, incased in the larger frame like setting....
