i would be more worried about moisture/water damage than vibration induced scratches.
However, the RCM issued tubes leaves room for a 26th coin, so the coins will be loose and will knock around when shaken. Good excuse to buy a couple more coins :)

Yes, you damaged them. No, you didn't lower the value much, because they're bullion.

Mom never understood why laundry rooms are at the opposite side from the bedrooms/bath, where 90% of the laundry is generated.

Probably for the same reason that breadboards are always place RIGHT ABOVE the silverware drawer where all the knives are. Such things are common when people who do not know a think about cooking are involved in designing the apparatus for same.

My wife has also noted that the bedrooms / laundry room mismatch is a serious faux pas in her life. She made me swear to fix that in our next house, which I did. As they say, "If Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy!".
