Well, if you're talking about the Sacagawea dollar, I guess it depends on whether you consider the year 2000 to be part of the 20th century or the first year of the 21st. Other than that, I don't see any major type missing. But I do wish it had a Barber half...

Are you talking about the Standing Liberty quarter that has a flying eagle on the reverse? If so, there's one in the set.

I think you're better off just posting questions here on the forum. There are a lot of experts here who know a LOT more than I do. Plus, I'm supposed to be at work right now anyway...

Thinking about this a bit more, you may want to first ask your kid if he wants to upgrade those coins. He may want to just leave it all as is. Regardless of condition, a present is a present and he may just want it like it is now. You may want to coinsider then in the future looking for another type of set holder and make that one a one step at a coin type set. Kids are funny about what is theres and he may just want it like it is.

Well, the plan was actually to upgrade the coins a bit before I gave it to him. In fact, I just swapped out the Liberty Head Nickel, the Barber dime and the Standing Liberty quarter with slightly more recognizable examples from my own collection. His birthday isn't until January, so I've got a little time if I want to keep fiddling with it. I don't necessarily want to give him the best possible examples, but I do feel they should at least be recognizable. I guess it's just as well the set doesn't include a Barber half dollar, since I only have one decent example and that's in my 7070 album...

Quote:Yep, it's missing the Barber half dollar. Pity there's no hole for it... I did not even notice it was missing. Interesting that it has the Barber quarter and dime, but no half dollar.

I recently saw another similar set that did include the Barber half. The asking price was more than $100 over what I paid for this set, so I figured I would pass...
