Craigslist...I totally believe this coin is legit! All the adult stuff and scams...trust them 100%! Looks legit to me.

I love how the coin is just chillin' on a nasty old table.

If it was REAL it would send it to a TPG and they would AUTHENTICATE it for him-but that would cost $100, so that is obviously not worth it.

I think I see the ghost of the zero where there now the number 1...hmmm...It must be the special 1/0 over date variety.

I'm not near as versed as you guys/gals but I can even see that it is an altered date! Look at the points of ware and then look at the date..see the problem? I do. I can almost make out a 0 where the 1 is now. Good Grief! HEY, I wonder if he still has that bridge for sale? I'm currently in the market for a new one!

That's a screaming bargain!
I was wondering what to do with that extra $125,000 laying around.

I knew a guy in Louisville who used to make these things. He's made hundreds if not thousands of them over the years. They are made by altering the 0 on a 1910 coin.
If you altered a 1903 the spacing of the digits would not be right

Looks like a nice 125k hole filler until you can afford to upgrade to one of the proofs

You know, in all seriousness, I have a copy of the 1956 Blue Book by R. S. Yeoman, and back then it listed the 1913 nickel as having six known specimens.

If you are thinking the coin this guy is trying to sell is a counterfeit - your are right. But, the other five 1913 Liberty nickels are counterfeits too. So, maybe it is worth $125,000+ as long as it is not an altered date coin. I'd like to see some high resolution images of this coin.

I don't know if any of you have tried to call the posted telephone number for the seller of this 1913 Liberty nickel, but I called three times. Each time someone answers saying someing inaudible and then hangs-up. It did not sound like a recording.
