Not listed in trends, so is that a bargain at 4K ? Is my vision going, or is that a G4 ?

G4..perhaps a stretch to G6...

I dont blame him for trying. I'd do the same, but only after publishing a book that includes them :)

I'd say calling that coin a barV is a stretch.

I'm hoping this is my first example of that variety: 1872 Bar V, Die break C/ANADA

Yes I did :)...

but strangely enough, for the last 4-5 months, someone has outbid me on 3 of these...and twice I pushed him into the $200s and still lost...

It looks like I'm not the only one trying to corner the market on these....this coin is my 3rd of the 1874 inverted Vs type :)...

You are lucky I don't bid on those YET, I noticed right off the bat why all the bids . Again good eye & good win.

Cograts danlos, since you and the other bidder consistently outbid me on the 1874H 3 missing/faint crossbar variety I decided to go for the consolation prize

Hopefully 1 faint/missing crossbar in CANADA
1872---25c-A/V,-Or-Bar-V-In-Victoria

Hopefully faint/missing crossbar in REGINA
1872---25c-A/V,-Or-Bar-V-In-Victoria

Hopefully I've got 2 faint/missing crossbars for less than a third of the price for three

I'm the owner of the original 1872 A/V 25 cents that was in Canadian Coin News. I had originally posted it on another site because of the double N and incidentally, the A Next to it is also doubled, which proves there was double punching of the A's.
Zonad noticed that there seemed to be something up with the V. Here are photos of that coin; note that there is definitely doubling on the right of the V and at the point. I do not think it is a die crack - very strange place for a die crack. I think it was caused by damage to the die when the A punch dug into what would be the solid raised area in the middle of the V.
