Yep...seems like there are 2 varieties of 1872 "Bar V"...with repunched N, and without repunched N in CANADA.

I find it even harder to get things that are already in there corrected. Have you thought about writing an article for the CN Journal? If something is important enough, to you as a numismatist, then you may have to take that initiative and pen an article. I'm surprised you weren't aware of this second type danloss.I guess my hopes of finding more on ebay at rock-bottom prices are over now.Easy to pick out on ebay photos the die crack is a great marker,they seem to appear at about the same frequency as the repunched N types. |

Yes I did :)...
but strangely enough, for the last 4-5 months, someone has outbid me on 3 of these...and twice I pushed him into the $200s and still lost...
It looks like I'm not the only one trying to corner the market on these....this coin is my 3rd of the 1874 inverted Vs type :)...
