Yes, this was a buy it now. NO way that lot finishes at 50 dollars in open bidding. I don't look at auction style listings.

Crazy! Someone tipped off the seller. All the good ones are auction style now.

What was your key word search as the sellers title seems pretty specific (no mention of silver, Morgan dollar, Walking Half, etc)

I found this one by bracketing the price I intended to pay. There was no search term. I searched across US coins, for buy it now items priced up to 50 dollars.

I don't know how this seller decided what should be a buy it now and what should be an auction style listing, but they were using both formats when I bought the silver lot, so I don't think they got wise .... but I don't know how they decided which would be auction style listings and which would be "buy it nows".

The last lot I bought had 63 nickels....not 42 as previously stated. I'd say there's close to a roll of War Nickels in that lot ... for 20 dollars.

Are these decent silver coin pricings?:
(self serving post but this is the first time I have sold coins.)

That link was copied from my purchase history. Try this one and see if you can access the listing.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/180757937699?ru=http://www.ebay.com:80/sch/i.html%3F_nkw=180757937699&_sacat=253&_dmpt=Coins_US_Individual&_odkw=&_osacat=253&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

If that doesn't work, you can always search for the specific item by listing number 180757937699

As for the listings from Larry .... You'll do OK. Yours all have bids and are not buy it now listings, so it's hard to comment on the price since they're all just opening bids.

Tomorrow morning these coins will finally arrive. It took the seller a little longer to get them dispatched than I might have preferred, but they've been checked through their final stop before being del'd to my PO.

Tomorrow I will have 260 coins from this seller to sort through.

Aside from the silver shown in this thread, I predict that of the 69 Indian heads I bought, 10 or so will be VF or better and will be staying. Hopefully, a couple will make it into my set.

Of the 40's nickel lot, I predict no fewer than 32 War Nickels.

Those are my predictions, based upon some pretty lousy pictures. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I'll post better pictures of the material tomorrow, later in the morning after I've had a chance to assess the lot.

I hope the circulation cameo of the 1899 Morgan is as nice as the jpeg would seem to suggest. If you can't have them in high grade, then to me, having a great patina is the next best thing. I may set aside a tray in my storage system for silver coins with exceptional circulation cameo and seek a few other issues. I think it would make an interesting and attractive little sub-set.

I went through all of the stuff and didn't find anything too exciting. The silver is what it is. The 1886 Morgan's probably an AU-53, while the 1899-O is a VG or so, maybe even fine. Of the rest, the 1935-D quarter is bent. The rest of the jun silver is without real issues. the Barber quarter is a 1912-S.

Of the nickels .... There were 21 war nickles, and 39 from 1953-55 that are high AU with pretty much full mint luster. I don't know that there's any real interest in those. There's a whole bunch of 1955s. The most notable thing in that lot is that I discovered that the 1954-P dies were rustier than all git out.

Of the indians ... there was an 1886 type 2 in G-4, and 4 that are VF or better. Those I'll keep, though they don't fill holes in my set, or even upgrade any issues. Of the 4 the 1892 was the best one. It's EF-45.

I'll take some pictures a little later. My mom's got issues with her dish network TV, so I have to go over to her house and sort that out....after I eat.

Now I just need to sort out some lots to sell myself and recoup some of the investment. Buying is easier than selling. I'm much better at buying. Selling becomes necessary though....when liquididity is an issue. That's where I am now. Some stuff (most of it) needs to go to others who need their "fix".

I once won a BIN for 100 face in wheats for ten dollars. The next morning I received an email from the seller saying they no longer had the pennies in stock and they were sorry.

I kept expecting the wheels to fall off of this one, but nope ... I got everything I bought. It took a little longer than I would have imagined that it should, but it could be something as simple as a paypal transfer to bank time issue.

I keep weird hours. I'm gonna get 40 winks and will take some pics when I arise.
