Oh wow now its up over 335 bucks. Yes it seems they may fallout before you get the rolls. Now how does this work. A crimped double end short two coins and he inserted 2 gold coins? Someone please explain?

I bet there is more gold inside the roll. Who knows, they are unsearched

Quote: now that's funny the seller is making himself look like an idiot I don't think he is making an idiot of himself! I think he is showing the world that he knows there are people who actually will buy this kind of stuff and he knows how to profit from them. I do not look at the seller as an idiot - unethical, maybe -- but certainly not stupid when you see his profit. He gets a of $$ by posting these laughable auctions. And if he did not understand the whole picture of what is actually going on, he would not still be "finding" all these "amazing" rolls of "unsearched" stuff. Anyone who thinks the volume of oddball rolls this guy "finds" can actually be "found" by one person is a few fries short of a Happy Meal anyway. Is it a rip off? I do not like to think there are people who take advantage of others who cannot see through all this, but I also know the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted." Maybe, just maybe, he may be doing some of these people a favor by serving as a teacher from the the school of hard knocks. Besides, let's face it - there may be legit bidders in this just b/c they want the gold coins and are trying to get them at a good price (providing they did not come from China ).

10xloupe, Why should ebay stop this? I think these auctions are stupid, and the buyers even more so, but what law or rule is he really breaking? Maybe the fact that he says unsearched is questionable, but can't be easily disproven with certainty. If someone wants to sell a roll of cents with gold dollars on both ends and a worn out capped bust dime so be it.

All I can say is WOW! I thought as well I had seen everything, thanks for putting this up. I too, purchased 2 "unsearched" wheat rolls just out of curiosity, but this takes it up around 10 more levels. I'm tempted on this one but am holding out for when the 20 dollar UNSEARCHED Liberty rolls start up.

its actually a somewhat common occurance to see them up on ebay with a quarter eagle seeded on the end, but I've never seen one with gold dollars! Thats just absurd!

LOL that is just completely ridiculous. Also note the 1828 bust dime behind one of the gold dollars.

On one hand, I would love to see what is actually in the roll. Not that I would ever pay 300+ to find out in this case. On the other hand, why would the seller sell a roll that has gold dollars on each end without looking at the rest of the roll. Something just does not smell right...

The auction ended at $455.00 plus $4.99 shipping. If those gold coins are real, one would think the seller would take them out and not sell the roll as unsearched.

What's with the bidding--do people really think there are more gold coins in that roll? Oh, I get it--the rest of the roll are IHCs, 1877 and 1909-S. How could I be so stupid?
