Does Littleton Coin Co. Packaging Add Any Value?

Lets say one has "messed up" and is currently getting these coins from this company that everyone is saying overprices everything... how would this individual get them to stop sending these coins to them?

I remember probably in 2005-2006 littleton had ASE's in their own blister packs with information about the coins that they sold for "new" members for something like 3-6 bucks a piece and you could get 5 of them if you joined their coin of the month club. I got my 5 back then and I think I still have 1 still in the littleton pack. The coins are nothing special just bullion ASE's in those packs that they sent to promote their company and t6o get people to sign up with their COTM club.

Yah, mine have the same rim toning. And if seller really did get them for 3-6 bucks apiece I don't feel too guilty for buying them at $34.

Especially since silver has now dropped down to $29...

After thinking about it for a while, it dawned on me that I might have a surviving "investment" from my Littleton experience.
I am pretty certain that the below lot was one of the things sent on approval or was the opening offering from Littleton, and I think it was 1971.
This lot had to be less than $1 or I would have bought two Matchbox cars instead. I'm almost certain this lot was 10 cents.

In any event, years later my Father had forgotten that I had acquired these and thought I had raided his collection. It turns out he had a 50 centavos one that he got while in serving in the military in WWII in the Pacific Theater (New Guinea, Leyte, Philippine Liberation). That one is now in my "never will part with" collection as well (in his foot locker along with his uniform).

Understanding now what THAT meant, I can appreciate why he did a double take when I pulled out that certificate.

Littleton may not be the best value in the world but the company, inadvertently, gave me a priceless memory.

You know, this is all starting to sound very familiar... I haven't thought about it in many years, but when I was a kid I remember signing up for some service where they sent me foreign coins on approval. I think I still have a few tiny little Bulgarian coins somewhere in a box in the attic, in fact. I honestly don't remember the name of the company, but it sounds like it might very well have been Littleton.

Anyway, back to the original topic, I went ahead and removed the coins from their packaging and put them with the rest of my ASEs. Anybody want some empty Littleton blister packs with nifty info cards?

Littleton is the worst,I cant believe as coin collectors that we are even talking about them!

I, like a number of folks, have fond memories of Littleton. They are the ones that got me going in collecting. I was a kid and those packages of foreign coins may well have been overpriced in terms of 'value' but for $0.35 I could get three coins from Bulgaria or Czechoslovakia or any number of other places. That was exciting! I still have some of the original manila envelopes. I think it is a shame they have moved away from this business and focused on overpriced silver whatever. Obviously it is working for them but I do remember those early days of collecting..and I still have probably a couple of hundred foreign coins from them.

I agree that they are not the worst, but they are certainly not the best place to buy coins.
Years ago I also had signed up for their "coins on approval" program and had a hard time getting them to stop.
