The asking price is $1300............ Do you think it is too much?

AU50, maybe EF45....details. Looks to be a die pair 2. A close up the date and MM is a MUST have.
1) ALWAYS be suspecious! Buying a raw one of these is RISKY business even if you're pretty good at them. 2) Some odd marks below LIBERTY, I would call that damage. 3) Looks to have an old cleaning that has retoned. 4) ALWAYS be suspecious!

1300 is a good price for the condition of this coin .

$1300.00 is a great price if it's real. The reverse looks like it has a bit of 'woodgraining' on it. It looks like an AU-50/53 to me.

I don't trust myself enough to purchase such a heavily faked coin raw. I'd also be concerned about the dark spots on the reverse between the N & E of ONE, on the left wheat stalk & on the last A of AMERICA. Looks like it could be corrosion.

The coin is being sold by a very reputable coin shop. I have no doubt about the authenticity, my main concern was whether it has been cleaned and if the coin in this condition is worth the asking price. Thanks for all the replies.

Ok, I'll bite. If the coin shop is reputable enough that you aren't concerned about authenticity why don't you believe them when they say it hasn't been cleaned?

Well, I do trust him but I do like second opinions.

Were it me... I would buy this one only if I was planning on reselling it.
Here's what I would offer the dealer.
Tell the dealer that you will pay to send it to ANACS and that you may buy it for $1300 upon it's return. I suspect that this one is going to come back with problems including cleaning and corrosion. However at that point you'll know the net grade as well as what the problems are.
My grade on it AU50 details, corrosion, cleaned

This is not a $1300 coin. It is a problem coin. If the dealer will go with getting it graded...AND it comes back WITH a grade (not details), then I would buy it. This coin will never get better...unfortunately. Sorry bud.

The lesson I learnt is always buy slabbed problem-free coins, with $1300 budget you will get a better one...
