Here they are! I didn't want to mess with the sliders, so I just scanned them leaving the plastic film over the coins. Any specs, fibers, fingerprints, etc are on the film, not the coin!

Few notes:

59-Present is BU, so I didnt include it. I did post a pic including the 1970 S Small Date from Chris12018. Thanks again!

The 1922 Plain slot has what I think is an early Die #1. It was previously labeled "Broken D" from its 1938 holder, which didn't include a slot for 1922 plain. How I came to obtain the coin, and who it belonged to, means more to me than any other 1922 cent I could own... so, for me it is a great hole filler. I won't be seeking a 22 Plain, but if I do find one I'll have to bump the 22 Weak D over and make room. I'm not so hip to the over polished die fad, anyway. Shame me all you want, sorry! :D As okiepb put it, time to move on to another album (IHCs). I got a '77 to focus on here...

Goals for the set:

1. Keep 09-40 as is for the most part
2. Replace ASAP: 1911, 1911D, 1925, 1927S
3. Upgrade 41-58 to Unc Red

If anyone can help with my upgrades, just shoot me a message. I'm going to a coin show this weekend and I only have 6 more holes in my Type set. Really hard not to just buy culls and call it done!

I wanted to ask about my 1943's... The 43D looks natural, I can't really tell with the 43, and the 43S appears to have been recoated. I'm really not good with the 43's, so I would welcome any opinions. I want only original coins in here, obviously.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

No shame, none at all. I really hate that spot being in the album and I envy you for finding a truly meaningful coin to put there. Well done.

1922 was the year my grandfather was born. If only he had a lucky 1922 Lincoln Cent to go along with his lucky 1922 Peace dollar that he gave me. What a hole filler that would be!

Great looking set with VERY nice examples.
I always thought the 1909svdb was the required last coin to obtain,
At least it is in my book. Congrats!

Congrats on the set Drsandman

I haven't put the 22 plain in the hole as well. I don't really consider it a part of the set; more of an error.
PLUS, a bunch of money! Maybe some day.

The 1922 Plain was the coin that got me started in this hobby. Cleaning out my parents estate, there was a drawer of unusual coins that my dad had saved from pocket change. Mostly Indian cents, Buffalo nickels, and such. Nothing really special except this 1922 no mintmark Lincoln.

On the advise of a local dealer who thought it was probably a fake..though a good fake, off it went to PCGS. It came back as a 1922 No D, VF-35, Strong Reverse. Unfortunately, I had to sell the coin to satisfy the estate with other family members. However it did hook me onto this wonderful hobby.

Now I have a Dansco 7100 album that lacks a 1909-S VDB, a 1914-D and a 1922 Plain! Live and learn!

It is quite an accomplishment. I am in the deep end on my Lincolns, raw and registry sets. Need 12 more to complete my 1909-1958 set in 64 BN and higher, and those are the costly ones. If you venture into Cherry Picker varieties though, there is no turning back. Congrats!

Very Nice - thanks for sharing the pics.

Would you mind telling which album this is? I see it does not have holes for the proofs. This is most likely the one would want to get. I found out the local coin shop will sell any used albums they get in with collections for only 5.00! If I know the numbers, they might hold them for me (30 mile drive so a phone call is normally the first thing I do).

As to your steel pennies. I have some BU and a lot of circulated. None of them look the color of yours (maybe just the scan also?). Maybe someone more knowledgeable about them can tell.

Earle42 - This is a Dansco 7100. '09-Present with proofs is 8100. I recommend assembling your set, then putting it into an album like Dansco. Consistently opening the sliders can scuff the coins if they are not centered in the slots. When I do remove a slider, I press all the coins further into the slot so the plastic doesn't make contact as it slides out.

Radar - Cool story! Maybe that 22 Plain will be an XF45 when he comes back home!
