It might not be a Small Eagle but it sure is an incredible coin: "1907 Indian Head $20 St. Gaudens gold pattern, PR69 (PCGS estimated grade) - $15,000,000. This unique gold pattern was designed by famed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It marries Saint-Gaudens' $10 Indian Head obverse design to his $20 reverse design. Some numismatists refer to this coin as "Teddy's coin" in reference to President Theodore Roosevelt's involvement in coaxing Saint-Gaudens to redesign our nation's $10 and $20 gold pieces. Kevin Lipton calls it "the other coin." This artistic masterpiece is privately held and the owner has reportedly turned down an offer of $15 million" - PCGS

I'm thinking about putting my sights on a Saint Gaudens double eagle. A true American classic.
I have an old gold watch I think is worth about 2 grand and I'd rather have the coin. Anybody know anything about gold watches?

It's an 18k gold Waltham watch. This is what I was told about it based the serial numbers:(931900) model- 1873 name- Riverside grade A material size 8 Plate-Ladies plate sn Jeweling-2 pairs 7-15 Balance:ex bal:exp style HC It was made in late 1877 to early 1878.
I don't know what most of the particulars mean and if it makes sense to anybody, but it is a fancy, old, gold pocket watch. It is missing the crystal and ticks a few times when you shake it. Was told it would probable run if it was properly cleaned. Thanks for asking Vermontensium

I love the private CA goldrush coins. There's a ton of history associated with them. Think about all these people with goldfever rushing out west in wagons trying to get rich. The $50 pieces are especially nice due to their size.

As a commemorative collector I agree with one other here the 1915 Panama-Pacific $50 gold piece. The owl is so cool on that coin.
