Im only young so my eyes are still good but after that many they start to go regardless. Tomorrow i'll look at the 66 dated coins and see if I have any luck. I use to have over 30 68 but have sold most on ebay and only have 3 left. All have the initials and I just hope I havent sold one that had them missing. Thanks for the post you have made me learn and find something I didnt have before.

That's what I use for my pics Nancy...takes some time to work out what it can do and can't...it's very sensitive to the slightest movement Cheers

Getting the light right for coins in 2x2's is the bugbear for me. I have so many coins in 2x2's, mostly errors, so getting half decent piccies of them will be a task. I've got some 'special' little aids though , and although the piccies do end up a bit off colour, it works for me. It's better than removing all the coins from the 2x2's just to get images. Sheesh! What a nightmare job that would be?

Thank you PP. I hadn't actually copied the file and had to search for it on the ACBO. I've now got a copy for future reference. Over the past years, I have kept all my 2 cent pieces and sorted them into years. I have kilos of the darn things. I'll have to eventually dig them out and check for missing SD's on other years. I may eventually sort them by mintmark, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting I have in my collection: 1966x2 plus another this is slightly upset, 1967x5, a very weakly struck 68, a 73, and a weakly stuck 81. The weakly struck don't count as being a 'No SD', but it may lend some support to the possibility of some 'No SD's' being die fills (greasers for our US colleagues).

I'm the same Yass. I have thousands of 1c (12500+) and 2c (9700+) pieces all sorted into years. It was/is exhausting and they are extremely heavy (separated into 1c and 2c boxes). Like you I doubt if I'll separate them into mintmarks etc anytime soon, although I have pulled out what I think are 1967 and 1968 no SD's. Haven't been through the 1966 and 1981 coins yet, there are just too many for me to find motivation!

I have found a few very weak "SD". At first glance look like no SD but, viewing closely, just very faint. Struck Through Grease or maybe one particular die; they are all 1967. Sorting by mintmark on 1¢ and 2¢ I have realised is only practical for good coins. Any wear or surface marking just makes it too hard. Jeff

I almost have a complete set of "no-sd" 2 cents in mint-state (4). It's taken 25 years to acquire them. They have been properly vetted by PCGS and I'd say the toughest of the group is the 1966-no-sd in high AU to mint-state.....
