I'm really not seeing wear. Mint state coin.

I'm not sure. The front doesn't show as well as the reverse. The reverse other then lacking luster looks almost flawless for a 100+ year old coin. I got it from a buddy for like $80 bucks so I can't really go wrong. I wish they would speed up the process it has been 20 days tomorrow. ugh I found this other picture in my photobucket account, looks more worn here to me :(

I wouldn't say worn, rather that there are pretty large areas where the luster is flat or non-existent. It is a very pretty coin. I hope it comes back from the TPG as a win for you!

I hope I'm wrong, but I think it will come back as AU with a details grade.

Yeah I don't know what the green algae stuff is either. Probably be in the AU53 range though I have hopes. The reverse looks as sharp as I have ever seen but has no luster at all, the front is iffy. I only graded it because I needed a fifth coin for the min.

60 at best...the obverse almost looks like it's been circulated.

MS details, maybe wiped. Or lightly circulated. Still hard to tell.

I was thinking AU when I saw the first pictures, and I'm think AU more with this new picture. $80 was still a bargain, but I don't think it has a chance at MS.

Definitely circulated, I'd say AU 55. I'm not sure if it's been cleaned or not. I'd want to see it in hand to really tell.

I looks like it came in AU Details, improperly cleaned ;( but oh well.
My two key coins from the 25th anniversary set came back MS70 so that makes me happy.
I had an 1883 cc come back BU UNC improperly cleaned obverse, which really baffles me.
1878 8TF came in at MS62+
I'll post pictures when I get them back Thanks guys

I thought it looked cleaned, that is why I said AU with a details grade. At least you got some good news though.
