There is not a snowball's chance in_______ my bank will EVER order a thousand dollars worth of coins they DON'T want. I have already tried paying up front for Sacagawea's and there answer is always NO WAY as they are afraid they will end up getting them back! Looks like I will have to count on my friends here to get them at face value for collectors in Europe, Australia and, of course my house!!!

Hey edix, does it look better in person. Looking at your images George looks like a bad morning after a good night. I remember seeing eyes like that on all the potheads standing in the hall in high school after lunch hour.

Anybody have details about the shows? I didn't get the mint's e-mail, and live in one of the cities mentioned.

Heh! The photo of those real coins is from the shot in today's Houston Chronicle. The coins are actually being held between the fingers of someone at the new Federal Reserve Bank building in town. I agree that in the photos George's eyelids do look a little heavy. I just hope that when the public finally gets them in hand they don't mistake them for the Shell Oil Presidential Series brass medals from a number years ago. There is no doubt that some cashiers will. The three-quarters view portraits are not for coins!

"I would rather go out west and hold a buffalo chip with Old Dan! Now that would be a photo worthy of keeping!" --Terry Terry: I have the time and the camera, if you can come out to Wyoming and pose, I would capture your countenances on celluloid for posterity. Well, actually on a flash card. When can I expect to meet you and Old Dan for the picture? Bryan: Your Knight is absolutely great!! SteveG: Several weeks ago I received an e-mail from the Mint offering a sign-up to receive Presidential dollars Information e-mails. I signed up, and therefore am receiving the e-mails. If interested you might e-mail, or call, the Mint.

As someone else said, we ought to just find out for ourselves. Anyway, here is a link for the Presidential dollars newsletter. I signed up. If they send me the issue with the information, I'll re-post it here for you. And if YOU get the information, please email it to me, I'd appreciate it. http://www.usmint.gov/email/index.c...=newsletters

I'm not going to brave the traffic out by the Galleria for a chance to "hold" a new dollar coin.
