Really nice start. Some nice coins.
However, did you notice that all your coins are tilted so that the faces are sideways?
Of course I figured out how to correct that. I just turned my monitor sideways.

Great to see the collection of another Philadelphian! Always made me proud as a child that if a coin had no mintmark, you new we made it right here. I live just off Two Street myself. Never skiied it though; I skiied down Pine once.

Nice start to a collection. It's funny how fast a couple coins can turn into a large collection rather fast.

skitwostreet,
The coin collection I was always in awe of when I was growing up, and the one that really inspired my own, was that of my great-uncle, who died before I was born. My grandmother would tell me about the beautiful coins in her brother's collection, and how he would show them off to anyone who came to visit. I never saw a single one of those coins, though, because while all his family and friends were at his funeral, someone broke into the dead man's house and stole them. Probably someone who scanned the obituary notices in the paper for just that purpose. Maybe both of us have gotten a little too close to advertising our addresses on the Internet here. There are still folks in our neighborhoods who aren't above dropping by uninvited, to help themselves to some old silver.

Yes it is, if minted in Philadelphia. Looks to be xf/au - $250.00 or so dollars, more if in AU but it is hard to
judge from the photograph.

They minted the 28 in San Francisco that year as well. Would need to see the reverse.....

The Peace dollar is actually a 1923. From the picture it looks to be an 8. But unfortunately it is a 1923 common dollar. And to philadelphian, that ls bad news whoever did that. Sorry to hear.
