Quote:another coin ... from Kazakhstan ... not that many were minted something like 10K http://www.ebay.com/itm/KAZAKHSTAN-..._1443wt_1037What do you guys think about perspectives of the price of this coin in the future? Not the greatest, bekiz. I've watched it at auction with the price in the range of the "Buy It Now" and witnessed zero takers. Although I like it, being a dragon fan, it didn't take the 2012 Year of the Dragon crowd by storm the way several other designs have. I'd advice patience. Wait until a couple of them actually go at auction so we can get an idea of where the market truly is for the coin. Not a lot of date to go on but I'd put the price at around $70-75 shipped.

Checking know what's going on in Kazakhstan with the coin. I missed the train with australian lunar series ... want to take at least this one, but do not want to pay too much (in this case 2x ASW price)

gimmicky in my books. Perth Mint sold out of their non-privy marked 1oz dragons but want to keep cashing in on the year of the dragon fever. This is the result.

Does anyone have any dragon without fever-price-tag on it? I'd add one to my collection )

I like how they were able to simply take the pearl design of this coin (I have a 2 oz. version an 1 oz. gilted version) and convert it into the lion privy mark very cool piece! I could be wrong, but one should always find that standard P for Perth Mint which is beside the tip of the dragons tail on all Perth Mint silver.....

yeah, you can do the same with ASE's ... take some, put the privy mark, and charge twice the price idea for free: 50 states issue it's own privy mark ... collectors going to be mad while looking for each and every one )))

Sorry, Bekiz. I'm not parting with my 18 odd silver dragons. But if you ever need a price, I'm pretty good about tabulating average costs and whether prices are trending up or down and if I have the data, I don't mind sharing it.

Traevin, do you think it is worth buying the coin with privy mark for $60?

B, Thanks to you for making me aware of them, I'm getting two for right around $53. But I imagine $60 will end up being a good price. I believe these will go at auction anywhere between $65-75 on average, but that's just guesswork at this point. Keep an eye on the auction below. It should be telling. Once the price has been set, the sellers will be adjusting their prices upward, IMO. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...160771747955

Taevin, what do you think about further appreciation of these mint marked coins? Any ideas what is the mintage of these lion mint marked ones? Are they made of original australian dragons or these coins were minted separately?

Posted of course no doubt in wrong thread, and sorry Bekiz as I have no information of worth on this privy coins. I know little about them, but from what little I have seen I can see how they can quickly become another silver collecting addiction/obsession, lol....

Quote: what do you think about further appreciation of these mint marked coins? I'm not overly excited about this particular Lunar Dragon. The mintage is too high for them to grow, IMO, except with silver increases in general. No box and no COA means it's not especially collectable. If you can get them for $50-60, I doubt you can go wrong, but it would be helpful if you like Dragons the way I do. As an investment vehicle, it's inadequate, because of what's already been discussed. Twelve years from now when the 2024 Lunar Dragons hit the market, maybe. Just be prepared to hold it and watch for opportunities if selling high is your strategy.
