Every time a thread like this starts I post this cent that I've had for a number of years. Strangely enough, it looks like the twin to SaintRidley's!

This is my ugliest coin. So much so I cant even identify it. For all I know it could be a medal and worth a million bucks.

The dark lines on the silver coins are odd. It could be "horn silver"--silver chloride.

Those are maybe the worst of the couple hundred silvers that I've dug in the last 2 or 3 years, and these have all been cleaned in some manner. The Morgan was dug from the picnic area of a church that burned down about 1900. She came out iron-colored and I thought that she was counterfeit at first. Same with the seated that came from a ballfield next to an old train depot. My second dug seated, what a heartbreaker! The Peace dollar, holed, I dug at about 5" inches between an old concession stand and ball diamond.

Oh, there are some very ugly ones there And it seems that some of those are even part of the collection. In my system I keep all the ugly ones before I get a better examples of them. So at the moment there are a couple of horribles in my binders...

I see someone discovered it takes a pretty substantial chain to support a 24 Peace.
