That $870 gold coin was the equivalent to a year of silver buying for me. I only have 4oz left here in the form of the first 4 coins of the canadian wildlife series......mint sealed, at least until my new 4 oz get here. :-)

I actually forgot to mention that I also have 4.5 oz in 50-92.5% silver coinage. Wow 4 seems to be a popular number for me this week. Wonder if my pay cheque will be 4 digits without decimals tomorrow? Not holding my breath. :-)

I'm heading that way myself. My first gold piece just wasn't enough. (So far 1/10 ounce is my limit.)

I would definitely like to own more at some point. I think I will collect my silver and when I get say, 35oz together, I will trade 27or 26oz in for another 1/2oz of gold. That way my silver is still growing as well as my gold. There are obviously variables such as gold/ silver ratios and market conditions at the time to take into consideration before making the switch. I think I enjoy the 1/2 oz because it is a good size but not as expensive as the full ozers. As well, all the fractional gold coins are so small and the smaller you go the higher the premiums. The half oz are just the right mix :-)

I think if you could get the set for 45 an oz you did good. Personally I see them go for more than 50 an oz all the time.

Great news, samsnate! Buying is exciting, but taking delivery is always pure relief! I know it's insured and trackable but I still worry until the moment that package is in MY hands! It's amazing how possessive I feel about my new PM from the moment I complete that online purchase.

@Hawk: it was I that got your beauty of a 1/2oz proof AGE. Regret selling it now though

I agree completely coinwatch. It is awesome to have it officially in hand. Even on that note, since most of my silver disappeared to get that gold, I miss my silver. I really enjoy the silver for selling when I need to or to sell high to buy low. I dont like not having a good silver stack ready to go if prices jump. My gold and silver are for long term but the gold especially but the silver I play with. Been slowly adding 80% to my silver stack but it isn't the same as pure 1oz bullion to me.
