Peru and Mexico each produce 2-3x more silver each year then the US, and Australia also produces significantly more so the added supply shouldn't have too large of an impact.

You don't bring one, let alone two mines back on line if you think prices are still going to fall. At least that's my read.

I do not really want higher silver prices yet. I'm too young and poor to pay for my Silver Coin collections if silver is $100/ounce lol

Silver without those two million ounces went down. Pretty well explains it.

Since most of us are still buying silver, lower prices would be good. Not that this would add a HUGE amount of silver to the world market but ANY addition beats the steady decline in silver production, IMHO.

Although Australia does not produce the most freshly mined silver, the current biggest silver mine in the World is the Cannington mine.

Biggest in what way, Sel? Silver produced? Tonnage of ore handled per day? Size, depth, or volume of the mine itself?

The mine produces 6% of the worlds silver, Thats a fair bit for just one mine.

Production at Cannington silver mine

During the year ending June 2006, Cannington mined 3.1Mt of ore grading 461g/t silver, 10.3% lead, and 3.7% zinc. Payable metal production was 38.45Moz of silver, 266,321t of lead and 68,779t of zinc.

Current annual production.
Certainly not the biggest silver mine, and the lifespan is going to be relatively short.

I think the high production rate is the result of the need to maximise the return on the investment in the development of the mine.

Current total World production is around 20,000 to 25,000 tons of newly mined silver per year.

That is a lot of silver coming from a single mine. Any idea where this silver goes once it leaves the mine? Perth Mint? China?

I don't know where the concentrate is refined at this mine.
They may even do it themselves.
I do a lot of shutdown work on various mine sites Australia wide and quite a few of them send the concentrate to India of all places.
