That $3 piece puts them all to shame! There is just something about the eye appeal on that one.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm very happy to piece this together. Obviously, there's a coin or two or three I could probably improve on. But, fortunately, the tougher coins (like the Type 2 dollar and $3) I have no need to try upgrading.
I also will probably play around with resizing all the pictures so that I can see all the coins together in the appropriate sizes.

Prethen,
How long of a time period did it took you to completed such a feat? I think with today values should be easily around $15K, or maybe I am off!

Macmercury, towards the end of last year I was a man on a mission. I decided I wanted to hedge my investments a bit with some pre-1933 gold and that's what I've been doing. But, along the way, I've been buying gold coins of various types and discovered I only had one "hole" left for this type set.

Prethen,
All the experts in the numismatic world I watched about owning common or semi-key pre-1933 gold coins with some intrinsic value, rather than owning just pure gold bullion, because even if gold goes down, these pre-1933 gold always have collectors value that will depreciate less than regular gold bullion.
A wise move!

I'll second what others have said - the $3 is gorgeous. Now all you have to do is save up for a $4 Stella!

Mere words cannot truly express the feeling that I knowingly will not be able to assemble such a nice set. Well done!
