I hope you're kidding with the rustoleum. That's overkill and pretty destructive if you aren't aware of errors/special coins other people may be looking for.

Hate to see that done to such a nice coin. I have saw a lot of my halves with holes in them while searching my boxes.

On my next two boxes, I will try to post any interesting ones I find. As much as I despise them, I have saw a few creative ones out there.

accordselux, you are completely right that it is very destructive for error and special coins that people may be looking for. I'm not a clad lover though, so everything gets hit.

Crhstreetwalker,

"...I'm not a clad lover though, so everything gets hit."

Okay, my question now has to become to what degree do you hit them?

Looking to get some pics up next week if I run into any uniquely marked coins. Trying to get the feel for my newly purchased 450d Canon (lightly used but new to me.)

I have run across several dimes lately that have been painted on one side. Mostly yellow, but I have red and blue too.

I don't go through halves much any more; usually a waste of time as most of them have dried up, at least around here. Here are a couple circulated proofs I pulled some time ago. Whoever did this really didn't have to. Totally destroyed the coins.

coppernickeldaddy, could you get those proofs clean with a bit of hand sanitizer and a klenex? that should lift the marks and cause minimal damage. I have used this method before.
