Hey, hi Canadian-Banknotes => ... very nice of you to drop-by!!

My pleasure.

I must admit, like I said in another thread. After seeing all your recent ancient purchases I started looking for some as well.

My own personal story with this coin.

I saw this quarter on the RCM website a couple months ago and thought it was neat, but I couldn't justify paying, what was it $29.95?, for basically a novelty item. But I really thought it was pretty cool, and the low mintage indicated a potential for investment. That's usually my indicator for buying coins and flipping them to make some cash. If I like it, there are usually others who like it too. (Usually, though not 100% accurate.) Anyway, I didn't buy it, and then watched the prices on ebay soar to $100 or more after they sold out at the mint. (I also missed out the same way on those silly glass ladybug and tulip coins.)

So as I was still kicking myself, I found out from my wife that my 4 yo daughter is now on a glow in the dark kick, so double whammy. Just about a week ago I had to put up a package of glow in the dark stars, moons and planets on the ceiling in her bedroom.

I'm still kicking myself about that coin. She really would have gotten a kick out of it. Good thing I haven't shown my wife it though. She would probably make me buy one from the aftermarket now. Same thing with the tulip and ladybug. Both are the wife's favorites.

At least the RCM keeps it interesting. Modern U.S. coins are bland.....at best.

Hey ... ummm, you guys realize that in 50 years, that sasquatch-coin has a chance to be as geeky-valuable as "Malibu-Ken doll" and/or "Steve Austin => the Six Million Dollar Man doll" ...

... yup, ya just never know which of the cheesy trinkets are gonna end-up becoming the next retro-winners, eh?

=> however, I do think that the "Sasquatch" quarter and/or the "Glow-in-the-dark Dinosaur" quarter certainly have as much chance, if not more, than any of the other gawdy contestants!!?

=> uh-huh => it's gonna be a battle to determine who wins the "Big-fish in a little pond competition!!"

true stevex, true.

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my daughter for her birthday, I think that would be a pretty cool gift.
