OK, if it makes you sleep better at night - yes, you discovered a huge error. All 25000 coins should be recalled.

Yeah I hope they recall all the coins. I can get my money back at least.
Mint said will ship next Batch on September, if those coins have the initial, can we consider the one without initial as error coin?

RCM Notice of product delay
Technical challenges related to new technology applied to our 25-Cent Colored Glow-in-the-dark Dinosaur Coin have delayed shipment of orders... maybe missing JC mark is the Technical challenges related to the delayed coins until Sept?

The problem with the coins is the glow in the dark material they cannot get it to work correctly that is what the mint told me and they will not send any out until they fix the problem. It has nothing to do with missing letters.

just call mint today to follow up mine dino coin order.

The rep told me that there is absolutely no problem with the GITD coins already out. Of course they just do not have the "JC". LOL...

And I ask about the "Not Glow" issue. they said "No". If that is the problem then they have to recall all the coins, cause dealers will push pressure on them. Customer complaint to dealers, and dealers report and complaint back to mint.

Below is my opinion about what the technical issue might be, based on my work experiences at the plastic molding company few years ago.
The problem might be "the Dice" "the Mold", the "Glow" material, sorry I do not know how they call in the coin production.

In plastic molding company. One certain mold can runs first 1000 products without any problems or error detects. And then after that it did not run perfectly as before, a lot of unqualified products were produce. This can be related to many technical issue. (the machine so hot, molding is crack, or due to switch to another raw material...).

Or might be they run out of the "Glow" material and have to switch to the new one. But the new "Glow" material does not work well with the previous Dice set up or whatever...

Above is my little opinion. It can be right or wrong.

I wonder if the new coins will have the JC letters or not. The ones without may be considered more valuable by collectors.

ElkSlayer - Thanks for the information. I should have had my Canadian friends pick up some at the local post office if I knew that was an option. Live and Learn!

I only want one of each coin. After you add in shipping and ebay fees, how much are you really getting for the speculative play? I've seen the current Dino around $100. My total with shipping was about $50. Subtract another $10 for ebay. So, $40 profit assuming it sells and buyer pays shipping/insurance.

The question really comes down to: would you like go have a bunch of these coins in your collection if they nobody else wants to buy them?
