it is not OK to move coins between sets and then return the lesser ones for refund or replacement.

Id say it depends on how it was done. If youre returning it cus you think itll be a 69 and not a 70 yea I agree that shouldnt be done.

But if you have 2 sets and one has a not so good Eagle and the other has the not so good RP theres no reason you should send both back and end up with nothing because you were unlucky to get a bad coin in each. I see no problem is cases like that moving the coins around

Wow, lots of grey area (matter?) in this ethical offshoot.

I dont see why not. I'm of the belief the mint should have extra sets for people that want to return bad coins and still have a set since ordering is closed they cant order another, so if thats what you have to do to make sure you get a good one really the mint only has them selves to blame for not making some reserve return sets. All theyd have to do is strike a few more and could use the same packaging.

chris12018, I admire your optimism. Normally, I would caution you to reduce your expectations but when I opened one of the five 2011 sets that I have I was pleased that I was unable to find a single flaw or quality issue of any kind with all five coins. The other four sets are still in their mint sealed shipping boxes and I don't expect that they will also contain five perfect coins but who knows. I will let you all know if I get that lucky again with this set.

I caved at the last minute and bought one set for myself to enjoy. It was a bit pricier than I wanted to pay but I actually don't own either a proof or reverse proof ASE and they are just too gorgeous to pass up.

Besides I view it as a savings since I would have wound up buying the set eventually and would have had to pay the second market premiums.

This would have been much easier to follow in 'Poll' form.

I ordered 2 sets in late June, 1 for me and 1 for my father. They will ship in September. I thought they were a bit pricey and I really don't want to wait that long for delivery, but I can't pass up the reverse proof. I think these sets will hold their value like the 2006 sets are.

I like the comments attached rather than just looking at numbers

I actually ordered 2 sets more than planned, at the last hour of the sale.
I hope to clear my CC balance before the ship date (not enough funding at the moment).

They are already selling for well over $200 on the secondary market and the price is going up each day. Flippers paradise, coin collecters heck!

Early flipping is normal and predictable...When the first graded sets arrive you will see the next wave....FS/ER sets first and then the regular label sets.

It seems that everyone who couldn't be bothered to order their own sets now will want them immediately and will bid up the price needlessly.....only to watch it drop and level off and THEN start to find its value... up or down

Absolutely the worst time to try and buy a set since no real market has developed...but it's fun to watch
