bullion is better than scrap anyway

That is a pretty generic statement. Bullion is essentially scrap and worth exactly what silver is trading at. However, these terms are used rather liberally around here so a little more clarification would be needed to judge the validity of such a statement.

I was assuming that the Peace dollars that he would receive would be culls or very low grade, not anything worth more than what he puts in. Plus, to resell, not many people would want culls, I would assume they would want the bullion.

well, I have vaious rounds and bars... I have a 10oz 1981 US mint Assay bar from San Fran.. a few other bars.. ASE's... etc. but I hate to agree, but your right. it would not be in my favor...

how much more/less in my favor would it be? help me out.

lets do the math shall we?

at the moment silver is @ $27.00/oz

30 oz of .999 = $810

30oz of 90% Peace dollars = 39 Peace dollars = 30oz = melt $813

BUT, slap on the Peace dollar premium and your looking at: $520/roll on ebay.about $100 permium/roll right?

so, id be willing to bet that the best I can do is 20oz in 90% more like, 26 Peace dollars....

so 26 Peace dollars =20oz of 90% = 30oz of 999 around $810 ?

actually....

with a $5 premium on circulated Peace dollars, no culls, thats $25/peace dollar....

$25/coin X 32 Peace dollars = $800!
30oz of .999 x @$27/oz = $810.

even at $26/peace dollar I can still get 31 Peace dollars = $806

i wont be able to get 30 oz of Peace dollars, thats 39 Peace dollars... thats a little over $1000 with a $26/coin price tag.

SO, even with a $5 premium on the Peace dollars I should be able to get 32 Peace dollars for my 30oz of .999

But would they be quality? Common dates are fine, as long as they aren't culls.

Assuming your silver carries no premium, the most you'd get for decent Peace dollars would be your quote of: "$26/peace dollar I can still get 31 Peace dollars = $806".

Haven't seen any decent Peace dollars for less than $30 ea. in the last six months, even at the show last weekend. So they are cheaper on ePay, including shipping?

Do you have pics of the .999 you are considering for the trade? It's possible I would trade 30 Peace for 30ozs of .999 if I could see what it looks like. My coins are all common dates in VF/better condition with some being lightly cleaned.

so realistically,

if I were to sell a roll of Peace dollars, in VF-XF grade circulated, seeing as ebay just had a roll go for $585..but minus the fees, so thats like $515...

so, on CCF, what can I expect a CCF member to pay for a roll?

True VF/XF Peace dollars are worth close to $30/ea retail right now, as your $585 ebay price reveals. When you factory in shipping/packaging and eBay/PayPal fees, you'd net about $500 or $25/ea.

I think you can do better than that selling on CCF or other coin forums.
