The date looks a little odd to me, but once again, I'm no expert either.

Heritage auctions has some great pics of of the 1832 N-1 Med Letters.

I don't quite think yours matches up.

That is as close of a match as I could find.

Good Luck.

None of the 1832 varieties have the date that far to the left. Either unique or fake.

Check out the curl in front of the ear, compare it with the reference photo posted in your thread. See any difference? It's not looking good as far as a genuine piece.

I really appreciate everyone's input... There is also a "roughness" to all surfaces that smack of pour vice strike... He has a grunch of them up on the Bay now.... Some of his stuff is genuine. I just think all of his Early Coppers are fakes.... I had sent him back the 1880 Shield nickel that proved to be Proof vice MS and this coin was an "oh by the way" along with a partial refund... I'm debating whether to bite the penny on this one and log it to lessons learned. All the transactions were off the Bay so I really have little recourse.... The last verse of "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" comes to mind.... "He left like one that hath been stunned and is of sense forlorn... A sadder and a wiser man he rose the morrow morn."

Like the "sometime chicken, sometimes steak" metaphor... This is a "pork rinds with nothing to drink" moment.

I've seen people buy coins that were quite obviously not right and then submit flowery positive feedback.

I can't match it to any of the known varieties. Among other things the date is too far left.
