To old to save for the future. So I have 5 cars, eat at restaurants as much as possible, Buy cloths if I like them, go to as many coin, knife, gun, computer, camera shows as possible. I'd do more but hate to do things alone and as you get older you find you keep loosing people to do things with. I get movies at a flea market for about $1 each and usually before they even come out legally. Never watch them since I fall asleep long before they hardley get started. Keep most of my coins in 5 safe deposit boxes along with a copy of my will.
As you get older being a cheapskate is sort of a waste of time and not much of that left. Age makes so many of us change.

Every time I look at a bottle of Mt dew that costs $1.50 I think of how many pennies I could get for that...

I havent bought a dvd that wasnt int he $5 bin for... so long I cant remember. and even then its got to be one I absolutely cannot live without.

I turn my car off at stop lights to save on gas

I have opened bank accounts (more than one) for the opening bonus, then hardly use them.

I dont drink because its so expensive.

yeah, I'm a cheap-o, but I wouldnt have it any other way!

I have said the same thing..

I could buy this for X amount, but wouldn't I rather spend that amount on a coin?

My money saving tip of the day is...

Pour in another 4 cups of water into that coffee maker in the morning to cut those caffeine costs even further! Usually do this after the pot has 2 cups left in it.

@glenzy1 There is absolutely nothing wrong with brewing your own coffee at home and not eating out. Strange how even though I rarely workout, my body has little fat!

@basebal21 ROFL! Are you hoarding DVD's as well now? I am proud of my DVD collection!

Yea you could say that lol. Just seemed silly to go to the theater when you can buy them for the same price. Of course theres always the occasional movie that comes out thats so good you cant wait but that doesn't seem to be happening a whole lot lately

I'm cheap when my budget it is low. Otherwise I spend like there is no tomorrow. But here is some ways to cut back...

-Buy a case of instant noodles, you will need them when you buy that coin you must have.
-Walk where you can instead of driving. Not only does it saves gas it gets you more tired and the more tired you are the more you sleep. You can't spend money when you're sleeping.
-Coffee, soda and bottled water? who needs that when you can drink straight from the tap. Even better, take a bottle and refill water from a public water fountain. Save some money on your water bill.

So there you go. Instant noodles, water and lots of walking are the basic needs of life... oh and coins too. :)

If you have the space you can also use the extreme couponers method of stocking up on things you'll need when they're on sale so you'll never have to pay full price for anything

I don't own DVDs
My son is my tech advisor and consultant (free)
Drink water with Bourbon or Scotch to save money and extend
Walk with Wife and Dog
Don't buy new pants until pockets wear out, or knees of something else shows
Don't throw out old coins or paper money

Does this qualify me for this caption...................

I spend so much time going through coins that I don't have time to spend money on much else! Have an older car (01 Ford Explorer), shave my head (no haircut fees), go to the $5 cinema to see a movie with my girl once or twice a week, own tons of pawn shop movies ($1 each) go hiking a lot (this costs little), buy clothes when they fall apart, and frequently at Salvation Army and Goodwill, don't drink or smoke (Lord knows how much I save there!) and drive to my vacation spots. My one extravagance: love to eat out. I can't cook to save my life, and my girlfriend doesn't care to. So, Applebees and I are on a first name basis!

I am such a cheapskate I can't tell you the last time we ate out. We can and freeze as much produce as we can. We have a garden (about $15.00 invested in seeds and starter plants this year), we have friends who get us a few bushels (free) of tomatoes each year and we also glean apples and peaches (free) from the local orchards at the end of the picking seasons. We can apple sauce, pie slices and juice; tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, salsa, pizza sauce, pickles, relish, peaches, beans, etc. Add in a deer or two for the freezer and we feed a family of 6 very well and very cheaply. Oh, yeah, we also make our own wine. The last batch was $4.00 in supplies for 4 liters of some of the best wine I've ever tasted.

Well, I consider myself a very patient penny pincher. As an example, I got a juicer at a garage sale the other day. I paid 3.00. I had always wanted to try one, but was never willing to pay more than 5.00 for a used one. I never found one and it has been years. Same thing with my bread maker. I wasn't willing even to go the 15.00 I had seen them for. I got mine from a friend who never used it - 10.00. I can be patient.

I would like a 55' TV. But I will wait until they come down somewhere around 400.00. It doesn't bother me to wait! I finally am thinking about picking up a car GPS (have two I use for hunting) since they can be had for under 100.00.

I set a price and stick to it.

I also "swap" things. E.g. I sell old book from my shelf in internet auction and get $10 from it. Then I buy a coin/s for that sum. You know all that unused stuff lying around your house - turn it into coins .
