On yours the head looks to be facing the other direction and there is what appears to be the Greek Letter
"Lambda" above the helm on the reverse.

The last coin posted by Ben reminds me of an Athens dichalkon, with the "A" of AOE above...

My eyes picked out the bee and the owl too.
Nice to have some recognizable coins in that lot!

Heres the owl coin, Athena, double bodied owl and bee and arrow thing:

I think this coin can be IDed, dissapointing on camera, its such a good coin in hand, small, but good patina and a good shine. I think this is a reclining river god? The reverse is still caked in crap and I am letting oil deal with it rather than scratch it.

Can anyone at least give me a tip off on how to ID that one?

And also, any rough values, summer has ended and I'm going to see if I'm in the black.

It would seem to me that you will need the obverse in order to ID the coin. That is, unless someone knows which coins had a reclining God on the reverse.

The first coin you might be able to ID a little more properly. I have a coin from the Macedonia Interregnum with the same style helmet, but my reverse is a Macedonian shield. You might want to start there.

Yeah - Looking at it - that coin reverse and obverse dont match - thats the reverse to the Gorgon on shield one... Your ID is correct. What do you reckon that would be worth (not that I intend to sell!).

Ben, you see my coin, which is different from yours, but I only paid $11 shipped just a couple of months ago. Your coin may be much more rare or not any more rare than mine. First you must fully ID the coin before you can get a value.

The coin is incredibly similar to this one:
Sear #6781 Macedonian Kingdom, Interregnum (following overthrow of Demetrios Poliorketes) AE16. 288-277 BC. Macedonian sheild with gorgon's head at center / B-A either side of Macedonian helmet, caduceus at lower left.

In comparable shape, that sold for $22. Cut in half and convert to pounds, I'm pretty darn happy with it.

I think that is a conservative, but correct, value.

I had no idea greek coins could be so cheap! The uncleaned coins have recently jumped in price, too.

Bad news - my double owl coin has some serious bronze disease. What should I do with it? I think it may be too far gone. If no-one has any ideas (I wont buy verdicare just for one coin) then ill lock it in a coating of resin to hold it together.
