I became a Master's Club member in July of this year. I wasn't aware that a mint rep is supposed to be assigned to me. I still place all my orders online. I have called the mint several times to inquire about the status of my orders, but there has never been any mention of a mint rep.
I placed an order for the Wolf Cubs specimen set on July 25th, and its status is still 'New Order':( Each time I call, I am told that it should ship within a few weeks. But my order status hasn't changed one iota. I am glad that I have discovered this forum, because I had no idea that fellow collectors regularly experience very long delays in receiving their coins, too.

I've never had a back log like this before. It just started in feb of this year. I hope they can get back on track.

Mint reps aren't assigned to all Masters Club members. There's a combination of placing sufficiently large orders and having a rep available in your area that still have spots to fill on his/her contact list that triggers the mint to assign a rep for you.

I repeat: I will never, ever order from the RCM again. The customer service is terrible and they simply do not care.

Quote: The customer service is terrible and they simply do not care To be fair, here's what happened to me earlier today... I called the Mint about returning a damaged coin that I received last week. The rep pulled up my account, saw that the order in question involved two coins, confirmed that I needed to return only one of them and then put me on hold to process the request. A minute or so later, the rep returned with my return authorization number and gave me the instructions on how to return the coin. No issues, it was a smooth, efficient, polite interaction. I'm sure I'm not alone in having positive experiences with the RCM. Yes, fulfillment delays have been an issue this year, but I don't believe folks working at the RCM are "evil" and uncaring. Just my thoughts...

Backlog might not be a bad thing. Check out what coins are in backlog. Grow in dark Dino, Two loons. And check their current market prices. Somehow it made me think that RCM made this happen on purpose as their sale strategy. RCM is making more and more kinds of coins every year. They get to find some ways to attract more collectors, or let the current collectors spend more money. They need something to stimuls the market. Limited floating numbers will definitely push up the prices. On the other hand, even if the backlog Was caused by the production issue, you don't want to push them to produce the coins in rush. The coins are yours anyway, but you want to make sure they are the good coins, which then needs your patience.

i second commems' opinion. This issue with delays is more of managerial/planning problem within the mint. Their customer service is pretty impeccable considering. No questions asked when returning coins for a refund or canceling a subscription even when you've already received the "free" cases and what not. I've not spoken to anybody at the RCM that wasn't polite and helpful. More than a few go above and beyond as well.

This was the first (and last) time I ordered from the RCM. I ordered 3 items: silver loon (rec'd), test token set and specimen set. I have written to them numerous times concerning the last 2 items and gotten NO RESPONSE other than a form letter indicating order status. No explanations, no apology - nothing. The delay of these coins is absurd. I reiterate: customer service stinks and they simply don't care.

Quote:I've not spoken to anybody at the RCM that wasn't polite and helpful When I've seen Bateman moose coin updated on canadapost.ca, I called Mint to cancel my earlier order (paid 10$ for shipping). The lady that I spoke to was very impolite and she argued with me that canadapost never ever offer free shipping but free local pickup, and finally she simply told me that the moose coin is ready to ship and that it was too late to cancel. What a joke.

Worst of luck for you. I've canceled no less than 2 dozen different orders over that past few years due to one thing or another. Not once was I treated impolitely.
Perhaps there's a tact to getting a polite response.

I've always had the most respect from the mint staff. As most, I too am frustrated with the delays in shipping, but I've never experienced anybody there that didn't go out of their way to correct whatever the issue I had was.

Cancelled an order yesterday via the website. Received confirmation e-mail today that the cancellation was processed.
This is the first time I've cancelled anything and it could not have been easier. Guess I was just lucky.

Can anyone compare their experience with RCM against US, Japan, or other mints? Since this is my first order with RCM, I was wondering if a 6 month wait is typical for all mints? It seems like before February everything was shipped expediently through RCM according to other posts. Does it really pay to stick with a single mint such as RCM to get special treatment (Master's Status)? That seems very limiting if you want a variety of coinage. Any experience is appreciated!

As stated: my first order with the RCM is also my last. Terrible service, just terrible. Nice coins though!

I never experienced delays like this with RCM prior to feb. of this year. I've ordered over $1000 with Perth Mint this year and don't think they have any sort of perks. If they do they haven't told me. US mint coins don't appeal to me. I've seen other world coins I've liked but get killed on the shipping so I don't get them.
