Bobby, thank you for sharing Bigg Fredd's insights...I never knew about the bubble and crash, but it makes sense and very relevant to how things are going today.

Again, thank you.
Rest in Peace

Don't ya just love that cynicism? It is always good for true numismatists to think with circumspection before they invest.

I am always sceptical of marketeers.

Enjoyed the read and respect the opinion.

We all have our own views on slabbed coins ... appreciate the opportunity Bobby to read the words from Fred.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the post Bobby. Some of us who were around when the TPG concept was started saw all of this coming.

Fredd: I have always reacted negatively to marketeering, be it in coins or anything else.
Marketeering that was in part responsible for the GFC.

For us all: Just remember, if you are a target for marketeering, and you take the bait, sooner or later, you will be a victim. The problem is be able to differentiate between what is honest promotion and what is marketeering.
Perhaps good warning for ALL investors, not just for PM and numismatics investors.

With all due respect Fredd was and will continue to be sardonicism at its best always divulging the veiled truth.

No BS and straight to the point.
I am certain that Big Fredd was an Aussie in a former life.
I totally agree with Fredd's Philosophy that education is the KEY to collecting and the slobbing is for lazy collectors or for people that have no real love of coins but buy them purely for speculation.
I know and agree that our coins do have a monitary value as well as an enjoyment value.
Most of my enjoyment from my coins is the education and skill I learn as I collect them.
Bigg Fredd did his utmost to help educate everyone about coins and he spoke from the heart.
The man is a ( family unfreindly word ) legend and love or hate him He will remain so

Nicely said, Trout.

I was the one who the member contributing this email approached at the Philly show, and I don't mind saying that reading that email was a....difficult moment. It was so BiggFredd - absolutely correct, absolutely on point and deliberately provocative. He understood perfectly how to force the reader to consider his words - whether in good light or bad, you had to think about what you just saw. And that was his point.

He's left a void which won't be filled.

Whether you agreed with BiggFredd, or disagreed, there is no doubt whatsoever, he spoke from his heart and meant what he said.
I will continue to use TPG's for various reasons but, as stated above, you really have to think about what you just read...I know I did.
