There are girls that are allowed in the Boy Scouts. They are 14+ and are in Explorer troops. With the Girl Scouts, there are no place for boys and they don't want male leaders.

Not a huge fan of the commem. I'll have to get it for the set but it will wait for the secondary market.

I am not involved with Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, but if I were I would probably get one of each group.

After they put a woman on the Boy Scout dollar, I was half expecting a man on the Girl Scout commem.

Since I was a Girl Scout for 5 years in my life, I plan on picking one up. I'm not to thrilled with the obverse design. I feel that it falls flat. The reverse is superb! It's a sleek & classy modern design of the trefoil. I agree with Hondo... Only if it ame with mints.

I approve of the obverse, the reverse on the other hand, is a different story....
I actually like the reverse better than the obverse. It has the official GSUSA logo after all.

I like the looks of it - especially since the insane PC junk (like the Boy Scout coin) is not represented.

It is an interesting looking commem. It'll be interesting to see how it sells. I did buy the Boy Scout commem, since I am one (once a boy scout, always a boy scout irregardless of age ).

My sisters were in girl scouts and my mother was a leader, so I don't know if I will buy one or not, yet.

Theyve been about 50 dollars right from the mint. You can get them cheaper if you wait a while on ebay usually for raw ones

Its probably more like 44 I cant remember exactly. ebay you can usually get them closer to 30 for a lot of the modern ones after market. If silver comes down the mint prices might drop, but the reverse can be true as well

I don't care for the abstract art on the reverse side but this would be a nice gift for a daughter or granddaughter who is in the scouts now.
