I highly recommend kitco, there prices are great, shipping is fast, customer service is top notch. They also sell Rhodium which is why I began to use them.

swrbx brings up a good point -- Kitco (as mentioned above) has competitive overall prices but is also (I think) the only big internet PM dealer that offers Rhodium. If you're in the market for Rhodium and the $2.5K minimum order threshold isn't a problem, Kitco is the only act in town.

The other issue is wether or not they have the item in stock. Still waiting for my small order of ASE's from Provident, been a couple weeks, order on hold.

FYI - goldeneaglecoin also sells the same rhodium bars, cheaper than kitco, with no minimum purchase threshold, and shipping ranges from $4.95-$24.95 with free shipping for orders over $25k. They're a fairly well known online bullion dealer, and I've had nothing but good dealings with both them and kitco.

@auptpdag---Thanks for the tip on Goldeneaglecoin. Their selling Rhodium cheaper than Kitco removes the one thing that I felt Kitco had going for them, and the fact that GEC does is with no minimum order and reasonable shipping is great. So long, Kitco (even though your spot charts are the best)! I've ordered from APMEX, Provident, Colonial Acres and Goldmart. The one hang-up they all have is the delay when you send them a paper payment---even if it's a bank check, certified check or postal money order. They all sit on paper payments as if all paper payments were personal checks, which I find irritating. Since my orders are usually $1K to $2.5K, doing a wire transfer is expensive and not an attraction from my end and I'm not willing to swallow the credit card surcharge they all hit you with. Anybody ever find any way around the paper payment shipping delay problem?

Seems like to me as well pms are stuck in neutral for about six months. Goin from last year as g@s would gain 1 dollar and 25 then they would both lose it right back and start again....
This is the powers to be leaving the window open for some time for us all to stock up. Seems like g@s broke out finally last year in mid summer....

If a check or money order is bad they are simply out the money with no recourse. With a credit or debit card, the retailer still gets paid and the bank is out the money. I've bought and sold motorcycles for years both as a private individual and as a licensed dealer. The only paper I accept is cash. As I tell buyers, if you can go to the bank to get a certified check, you can just as easily get cash.

@JSH - The dealers who accept checks/money orders as payment are never "out the money with no recourse" because they don't ship until the money clears, hence the delay that Fat Freddy was looking for ways around....
@Fat Freddy - No online dealer who accepts check/money order is going to process the orders as quickly as if the payment was made with CC/wire, that's just not going to happen with any of the companies that have a high volume of business anyway.

@ auptpdag: I was thinking more about general retails like department stores, grocery stores, etc. In my area there are quite a few smaller mom and pop places that accept checks but not credit cards. Holding a check until it clears is safe but not practical for most businesses. I'm surprised online coin dealers haven't started adding debit card transactions. With the debit card fee capped at $0.21 per transaction it wouldn't cost them much and they could process the order as quickly as a credit card order. It seems like the best of both worlds to me.

@ASH - Thanks for clarifying, I agree about the Debit Card transactions, I think banksters have a hand in keeping debit card transactions for online purchases unattractive to businesses, otherwise it would be a nobrainer for sites to support it. I know in my state they add extra fees if you want to pay online to renew your driver's license, etc. via debit card but they don't charge extra for CC transactions. Just guesswork on my part, but it all seems very fishy.

I think thats bad policy to have a mininum because it locks out smaller buyers, to me thats forcing you to load up at that moment on a ton of silver which you have no say on how to protect it if you are only going by spot.
To me, I have no problem at all using a credit card for every single purchase of physical PMs/coins. I pay the balance in full each time when the bill comes and I dont mind the price diffrence for using a credit card so long as it stipulated upfront. and in anycase, what I am buying is for my collection as a hobbyist so I dont care if theres no profit, it is of no concern to me.
any sort of investment or speculation I do in PMs is either done in the futures market or ETFs that allow me to hedge my positions with options and stops. I cant fathom buying silver rolls of the physical product when I can be buying futures contracts for tens of thousands of silver and gold at a time and only using a percentage of my money for the contract.

I agree, I stay away from sites like that. Unless silver hit 4 or 5 dollars again I wouldnt buy in the quantity at once. That being said it seems to be working for them since theyre still around. They could make more money taking smaller orders but probably decided its not worth the effort and just want to stick with large orders
