Quote: theres nothing to do here in NC dont do it!! Yes but when he gets there he may well start something. As to getting your coins there, so much does depend on how big a collection you have. 1. Place all coins and coin items in a large box and lable with COINS, please do not steal. Then ship via the US Post office. 2. Leave all coins where your at and give me that address. 3. Sell all your coins and coin related items and when in NC, start all over. On a serious note why not just take it all with you. If a decent size, just place in a box or suit case and put in the trunk of your car. That is whay I'd do since I'm not a big fan of any of our postal systems.

When traveling from one State to others, people see your licence and know your from out of town. This to many means your traveling with extra money, coins, stamps, guns, etc. If stopping at a restaurant, hotel, motel, etc. leave nothing on the seats. Regardless of alarms, leave nothing visable. It takes seconds to smash a window, grab stuff and run and vanish. If your car appears to be rather empty, many think your just on a job related trip and carry nothing personal.

thanks for all the input everything is packed in a tote marked official training records so they wont even open it. The only thing I didn't pack is my Lincoln dansco album I've worked too hard on that to get it lost or stolen and I'm also bringing my 1965 sms with me too. Sounds silly but Lincoln cents are my favorite coin to collect I don't care if they take my silver or other coins I have saved but don't mess with the Lincolns.

If your a bit handy with wood, measure the space between the rear of your front seat and the front of the rear seat. Cut a piece of wood to fit that space. Of course this will hinder the moving of your front seat further back. Paint it black or cover with an old piece of carpeting or rug. Place your coin Ablums, books, etc under that. This sort of makes a not to easy to spot a hidden area.

well since my military gear doesn't go against my weight limit I have a tough box I'll put some of my gear in and put my coins in there it has to have a lock on it so I should be good since the moving company don't wanna pay thousands of dollars for overpriced gear

Daniels, I wouldn't use "training records." Any information thief walking by your car will go "ooooh, goodie!" Whenever I have something to hide on my computer (which is to say something that shouldn't be seen by little eyes) I put a folder inside a folder, put both inside my "Nina's Pix" folder, then label the outside folder something super-boring like "GPAACC Award Ceremony Photos 12/08/10" and the inside folder something even more boring like "GPAACC Jackie ref photos final fitting." I would recommend labeling your box "PHOTO ALBUMS 1985-1995" and putting an actual-facts album on top of the coins.

lol I like the folder inside a folder trick never thought of that. Since I have to have a lock on my gear being shipped and when they pack it it goes inside wooden crates and are sealed and because I need that gear faster then my other stuff it get shipped faster. I'm shipping my car from AK to Seattle so I cant have anything of value in it and its too much to carry on a plane to Seattle plus I have 2 dogs a 6 year old and a 15 year old both girls I don't need anymore then that lol my stuff doesn't get picked up until the 9th plenty of time to get more ideas

If you have someone you can TRUST near your destination the safest way to get it there is just to mail it to them by registered mail declaring its actual value. Your airplane crashing on your way to Seattle is more likely than your registered packages being stolen. (Actually the most likely way to lose it would be for the person you TRUST that your send it to skips town with it.) Then when you get to your destination go pick up your mail. If there is no one at your destination you can ship it to, ship it to someone you trust anywhere with instructions to reship it to you after you get to your destination. Costs more to double ship, but it gets to you safely.
