No. Because the 1820 cent has saved you, peter1234 is trying to say make sure you know what you are buying, and what grade it is b4 you buy. He is old and can afford high grade coins, but is trying to point you in the right direction for the long term.

Well said Rooney dog...apart from the old. Don't end up with a load of junk.It is not saleable and you will get bored of looking at tat. Get a reliable dealer..ebay can be a nightmare.

There used to be a few Saturday morning dealers in Donegal Pass (in Belfast) but it's been years since I was there. One guy (sadly passed away) used to buy in bins of coins from England and I could sit happily for a few hours on a Saturday going through them looking for interesting stuff. My second ever best buy was a 1870 Japenese 5 sen in EF+ that I got out of a 10p bin. (Probably £300+ today)
Check out the local house clearance auctions up round the NW. There must be some up there. Four times out of 5 there will be nothing but the odd time there will be some interesting coins that will be worth looking at. Build up a relationship with the auction house so you can just give them a ring to see if any coins have come in to save you needless journeys.
Aviod "antique fairs" like the plague - there is nothing there, but there are some good coin fairs around. There should be one soon in Dublin run by Whytes (with an auction of some very nice, but very pricy stuff). It is definitely worth a journey - I'm tempted to go again myself this year..

Here you go John http://www.ngccoin.com/NGCCoinExplo...CoinID=11618 as a rule take about 50% of the value for your grade say $70 divide by 2 $35 and divide by 1.6 approx £21 or divide by 1.4 approx Euro 25. These are my rules do not know what others do. Also you can look on ebay.com and see what an equivalent coin sold for. Remember a coin is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it (in my case usually what I pay for them). If you google 1820/19 Coronet Head Cent you will probably find a US site dedicated to these coins.
