@anjohl - True, but when the Canadian dollar is over par then I have the advantage. Also, another coin will always come along so once my max bid is reached I walk away with no regrets. It's the sellers who are only doing it because they are following ebay's advice that end up paying for it.
@lyradnoj No they're not making money off the difference; unless they're cheating on their taxes anyway of course :-). The accounting rules cover the conversion.

I just recently got myself a credit card that does *not* tack on the extra 2.5% charge for conversion. You can use it directly via PayPal without being ripped off by what I consider to be an exorbitant fee. There aren't many such credit cards out there, but I was recently directed to a blog that listed three or four such and I chose one that had some extra bonuses for me, personally. Is it OK for me to mention the card or the blogger's site? Not sure what is proper forum etiquette. (I don't have any personal financial interest in the card or the blogger's site.)

Do anybody knows what's up with asyn: no more lots. Are they running out of coins?

@pimpim: ? I'm seeing 1,350 active listings right now. Somewhat less than the peak of posting 600 items a night a few months back admittedly but still quite a lot.

Am I the only only one who can't see Asyn listing anymore, even if I'm not logged on. And if I do find some items on google, I get this message :

"Unfortunately, access to this particular item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries. ..."

By the way, I am from Quebec, if that can make a difference.

There is no regulation on ebay that prevents you from having a second account in your household. I created an account for my son but I have total control over it, check things daily. If I see something I want from a seller who was trifling enough to block me, I have my son bid on it.

The very 1st online purchase on e-bay I did was through asyn.... It was for a '35 silver dollar... When I got in hand there was evidence of it having been cleaned... I sent it back.. I hadn't heard from them in two weeks so I called...he said he didn't receive it... I was like... danG! Two days later I tried calling again.. spoke to the same person and he said b/c I called when they checked their mail they knew the dollar was from me.

The accepted the return... refunded my money... and I've been allowed to bid ... have never been blocked...

We all know here the grading is a joke... and how they get away with posting grades is beyond me as it's against ebay policies.. but I just roll with it... they have a large selection and just sometimes you can get a good deal... others... well they go for a bit over and above.
