Awwww come on. There are way too many. It might be better to have the question be,"what is the ugliest coin made"! Lets see if we can hit a nerve. Jim

There are so many beautiful designs, most from before 1900 though. I really dislike any of the coins with dead presidents on them. My absolute favorite, the one I find beautiful, is one that most people think is downright ugly: the Middle Date Large Cents 1816 - 1839. Okay, so I'm weird ...

Well, I'll tell you one thing - that 1818 with the circumferential die crack (N-10?) is one of the single most attractive coins I've ever seen. Maybe for the wrong reasons - it's broke - but I love it all the same.

Ya know I never really realized it before Auld's post but I would agree I'm not a big fan of any of the coins with dead presidents on them hehe. I would say the Walking Liberty half is the prettiest since it's also one that's more easily attainable. The Buffalo nickel I wouldn't necesarily call pretty imo, but for me it is the most appealing US coin. I do love the St Gaudens and Indian head $2.5 and $5 coins but they almost seem out of the picture to me, because I won't be able to afford any. I flip through the RedBook a lot of times just to look at the pictures of all the different coins in them. I know which ones are my favorites when I see a page and don't want to turn to the next, the ones that just grab ya even if ya don't know why they're the keepers.

Well I have never seen one for real but I like the ultra high profile first double eagle St Gaudens but I fear the price is a bit steep ( 20 000 dollars like MS62 ?)So any nice MS St Gaudens will do My second choice has not been mentioned yet The 5$ olympics 1988 goddess of victory Nike which I got at 19% discount to goldprice 3 years ago

I like all the half dollars, anything that is gold, lol, Mercs, wheats, etc. I am working on Franklins at the present time though, and also RPM cents. So that is my Two Cents, lol. Phoenix

I think after completing a Peace dollar set I will work on a Buffalo nickel set, so inspite my listings above, the practical aspect is what I can afford and try to build a set of; though I ranked the Morgan dollar and the St. G above the Peace dollar and Buffalo nickels I do not forese the possibilty of putting together a set of either of these; expecially when I want to get all in at least BU or better.

Ah shucks! We have created another buffalo hunter quite by accident!!! Hopefully he lives way out west and it will only affect Old Dan's hunting!

How about the Capped Bust series, particularly the Half Dollar?

The most attractive US coins are in my opinion: 1: Oregon Trail Half Dollar - Both the obv. and rev. are stunning 2: Type I Standing Liberty quarter - The type II is one of the least attractive to me, I find censorship ugly! 3: Walking Liberty half dollar - Far nicer than the Silver Eagle, too bad the mint couldn't copy the reverse of something nice instead of the "Afterthought Eagle" it presently uses.
