Thanks Gil , I'm not really interested in the value of the coin it's more the rarity , where this one was found was a place in the uk called wareham , or very close , and it's a Saxon walled town , a few roman pop out but not handfuls . I'm curious to how scarce it could be just for bragging rights , I have a friend that I detect with and a few years ago he found an edward iv angel with the rare mint marks . I'd love to tell him it could be as rare as his .

Let's put it this way. It's so rare that it's not listed in the largest Roman Imperial catalog, The Roman Imperial Coinage. If it's there than I'm over-looking it. It would be in RIC Volume 5-2, if it's there. It's not listed in AORTA either. Someone might want to check ERIC II. I've never seen this coin before.

Also - other examples of even very rare coins can nearly always be found on the web after a bit of searching, I've not found anything other than 'a little similar' so far

All I can do is say WOW! Usually Carausius coins come up pretty rough when dug up. Yours is a amazing condition and looks to be very rare too. Awesome find

Cool - I thought they might be interested in it, very difficult to value but I hope you get a good price, will also be great to have something you found in the BM!

I'd certainly either sll it to th BM or keep it until you are finished with it and give it to them. You do have an opportunity to increase the knowledge database which I guess you already did when you reported the coin to them. That is the kind of thing those of us who don't live where ancients used coins can only dream of doing. Congratulations and thanks.

I've emailed the British museum-Monkeybean

Or you can record it, if not already done so, with the P.A.S.

This will give the vital provenance needed.
A great coin!
