Two not-so-recent acquisitions. I don't usually go for damaged coins but undamaged (and less worn in the case of my sestertius) versions of these coins would go for way more than what I got them at: $10 and $12 respectively. I couldn't resist.

Julian II
Siliqua
Obv: DN CL IVLIANVS AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right
Rev: VOTIS V MVLTIS X within wreath, TR-palm branch in ex, Trier mint, RIC 365
Damaged-Ancients,-But-At-Good-Prices

Hadrian Sestertius (my first sestertius, but it's browner and duller in hand now, ever since I treated it for BD)
Obv: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate, draped, and bust right
Rev: FELICITATI AVG COS III PP. galley travelling left with oarsmen and steerman at helm, standard on stern, S-C in fields, RIC 706, Cohen 657
Damaged-Ancients,-But-At-Good-Prices

If anyone else has damaged but scarce coins, feel free to post them here

I'd take both of those coins for that price. Especially that Hadrian Sestertius with the galley.

Julian looks shocked at his rough treatment. Even with some damage, they're still history!

Both would look fine in my collection. And for the record, the Hadrian with the galley would be my choice if I had to choose between the two. Congrats.

I would agree with some others, the hole in the galley example I could live with. Yes, its a distraction but not overly.

While I love Julian II's coins, I simply would never be happy with that example.

But, to each his own, and if you like them at that price more power to you. Every coin needs a home. :)
