MS-64. I can't really tell if the coin is PL or not.

I will go with MS-64 PL. Wouldn't be too surprised if it graded a point lower.

The cameo is nice, there is just too many hits and ticks on the face to reach a 64 today. 1878-S are not a tough coin in high grade to find either, so it would take a special one to reach MS65 IMO.

Everyone was very close if not spot on. The coin is much nicer in hand as my photography skills are almost.... adequate. I believe this could be MS64PL if re-submitted but I would never do that. I'm a big fan of old green label holders.

Great coin, but I don't see this coin ever making a 64 grade, as I stated before there are just too many 1878-S PL coins without so much chatter on the cheek. It takes a pretty phenomenal coin to hit 65 or better even 64's from 78-S mint are pretty mark free from what I've seen.
