Finally got off my butt today and hit 2 BofM branches. Walked away with 4+ boxes. I could have gotten a few more, but the wife threatened to divorce me after I plunked down the 4th box. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of sorting over the next few weeks. I'll let all know if there are any treasures found.

Figured I'd pick up 4 boxes today and join the crowd. haha. The lady at CIBC said that had =a lot= more in the back if wanted those too. Unfortunitly, the wife was with and I think I'd have the same problem as mikem. ;)

we have a td branch open on sunday 11-4. I was able to pick up 4 boxs. 2 boxs were mint rolls. 2011, and 2012. the other were g4 mixed rolls..i was quite happy with the new pennies.. and somewhat surprised.. I'm quessing they must not have rotated their stock when boxes came in.how else would a full sealed box of 2011 pennies still be around..  |

Went to the bank today (yup, mine was open on Sunday) and picked up their last two boxes.
I did some basic searching and it looks like I got a box of nothing but copper. 7.5KG of the stuff. :)

my bank called me at 3.45 and said they still had some pennies left, but that I had to be there by 4.. I did make it and walked out with another 5 boxs. another mint sealed box of 2011 pennies..i have no idea what I am going to do with 5000 bu 2011 pennies..?

Got 4 boxes from my bank today. Now I've got 23 boxes to search through later.

Found out on Wednesday that "National Bank" and maybe some others like your local Credit Union will still give out boxes after the 4th. You just need to ask the right person. Personally, I don't have the time to search through boxes of pennies, but just hoping I can help you guys out.

I am disapointed that the mint is recalling the penny, when they stoped making it they said it would still be in cerculation for the better part of a decade, and now there are no longer giving it out.
I think banks are not giving out any pannies because they can claim back the money from the mint for handling as well as face value.

it won't be around very long at all imo.. we have a coinstar at work and there was a steady line to it all day with people bringing in tupperware containers to empty.it truely was a sad thing to see.

i work in a grocery store, and we are not even handing them out today, even though there is close to 4 boxs in the safe, they have to go back to brinks..
