Great job Sunfish! How long did it take you to complete it?

Very nice Sunfish! Welcome to the completed birds of Canada series. Complete until the next one, that is. I have all eleven and certainly looking forward to number 12 in the series. Wondering just what it might be. They haven't done a bluebird or an oriole yet...

Paid more then I would like but hadn't seen a mint one in awhile and it has seemed as the cardinals prices are increasing. Paid 335$, the most I have ever paid for a coin but was anxious to finish this series after two years. The oriole and bluebird would be absoultely awesome, especially the Orioles orange and yellow coat!

I put mine into air-tites because they have lots of display options. Currently I'm using the 6-coin stand, but this year will fill up the 2nd of those, so I'll have to get a third or go another route.

@Sunfish: congrats on finding a mint one; I'm frustrated with the crappy one I got and still waiting to hear back from the seller.
@jcz1: what does the 6 coin stand look like - do you have a link ? Its difficult to find a nice box that will hold these capsules.

The mint should release a box for the series for those who are interested. Thanks numismatist

I'm not sure if the air-tites I used were size H or another one, but here is the page for the stands on the mfr website: http://www.airtiteholders.com/Categ...y.aspx?CID=6This page took a while for me to understand. As you can see in the picture, these are cards with cutouts for the air-tite holders, and these cards slide into the wood stand. This page shows 3 different card sizes, and each size of card can be ordered with a variety of holes. These holes can be all the same size, or up to 4 different sizes. I went with a 500-series card which allowed me to have 6 holes. Let's use H as an example, so I click on All H Holders under the 500-series. This takes me to a page which lists 5 different cards, with 4 holes all the way up to 8 holes (4H to 8H). For 6 holes, the card number I wanted is #510. The cost of $9.95 is for the card with 6 holes plus the wood stand. The actual air-tites are extra. As I mentioned, my cards will be full after the 2nd release this year, so it's nearing time to order again. I'll try to find my previous order and verify the exact card/stand I bought. It's not fancy, but it does the job of displaying them to my liking.

Okay, I found my old order, which was from brent-krueger.com which it seems is no longer in business. I got I-series air-tites with black rings, to fit 35mm coins like these birds. (I don't think the H-Series goes up to 35mm, and I couldn't find a direct fit at 35mm.) I also got card/stand number 524, which has holes for 6 I-series air-tites.

Very happy my dad bought me and my brother each one back in 2008 when he visited the mint. Love the low mint number and has never been out of its plastic case. Would it be a good investment to have it graded? And what would be the ideal place to have it graded? Thanks!

You are indeed fortunate arndtb09! One of the most sough-after members of this series. Since you know the history of the coin, I don't think getting it graded would add substantially to its value. (That's more of an issue with circulation coins as a rule.) There are others in this forum who have far greater knowledge than I do, however, and I would defer to their opinions if they feel otherwise.
