Just curios, when the Mint will publish the info about real mintage of this coin?

is it just me or is there something seriously wrong with some of the data on that report?

The sales data (aka 'mintages') appears more complete than in previous annual reports but they really don't report cumulative sales of individual coins very well. That is, the report is only sales occurring between Jan and Dec 31 but that doesn't account for coins that sell in two or more fiscal years. To be fair, this a fiscal report, not a production report, but of course most of us really want to see true final mintages.
It would be an exercise in aggregating coins sales for a couple of years to get better mintage numbers for individual coins but I think this is the first year that data has been so detailed.
add: actually last year looks pretty detailed too.
Solidifier, is there anything in particular that you feel is wrong?

Thanks for the URL, CC-Ottawa!
For some reason, I thought, that the reports will be issued later...

Tiktaalik wasn't issued until Feb 2014 so I guess that is a small error and should be Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai (2012) 561.
Adding to the 2012 report number of 24422, that give 24983 of 25000 for the first GITD. Makes sense.
Maybe we need a thread to point out these errors.

Today one of these Grandma Moon Mask coins went for US$ 86.00 or $107 Cdn. Issue price was $149.99. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/201278063745....m1423.l2649Another example of how the RCM NCLT market has crashed. When is the RCM going to cut back on the number of issues and the quantity produced?

Quote:Another example of how the RCM NCLT market has crashed. When is the RCM going to cut back on the number of issues and the quantity produced? Probably not only RCM. *Take for example NZ Mint with their Disney coins - promised to be the hit forever, but people even can not sell them. *Perth Mint - years ago people said, that will not touch the coins from there, but recent "Gods" series resurrected the interest, but now again, people trying to sell these coins... *Mongolian Series - people paid really a lot of money to get the first, second and the third coins, and now looks like people do not care Just too many NCLT from many mints / sources

That seller started his auctions too low ,maybe by choice or maybe mistake , I see he has relisted some for higher start price. If you start too low on low demand coins your going to get low prices. Best is to list BIN and wait , unless you need the money etc etc. ebay makes you believe Auctions are the best way to sell , sometimes it is but mostly on low demand items your going to lose money, great for the buyer bad for the seller.

This coins was issued in the "strong RCM batch": The famous Glass Butterfly - have been sold within bit more than 1 hour of MC release. Maple Canopy - first in series - Autumn...it was clear that will be popular. And "Grandmother Mask" - well done coin, but has been purchased mainly due to success of the predecessor (which actually succeed only because of final mintage) Even without a low ending auctions (I agree with Northerncoins about the reasons), it was offered by CA and some other dealer for CAD 110. BTW, sorry for addition: just remembered that I do not want to keep the : 2013 Piedfort SML (mint condition, packaging) - 70% from issue + shipping.

I decided to reread this thread from pg 1 and two things stand out, first many posters have been active for a yr and secondly the photos posted made me fall in love with the hobby a new. However, not to the point I will spend tons of money this yr. reading the thread again helps me realize how very expensive the coins have gotten. Then how quickly they've across the board lost value. I totally agree the mints of the world have over saturated the Nclt world, to the point people are dropping out. I also think the mints have keyed into the fact; many collectors need to have a complete set, even if the only like half of the designs. I know I spend hrs agonizing on whether to just buy the designs I love or complete the set. These past two moon mask coins really should be priced at $100. People will only tolerate losing money for so long before they say no more.
I appreciate everyone who has contributed photos to this thread!! It has really contributed to reinvigorating my interest in the hobby.
