Just to remove the empty fields, the way that tree will take all the coin space - and will be very nice. But correct, coin looks much better "alive". Why RCM didn't give to Emily to do the design? New artist looks like was inspired by 20for20 Penny farewell theme.

Exactly! I like each of the coins separately but they do not look like they belong to the same series. Here they are side by side: I do wish that the empty border around the 2nd coin wasn't there. It makes the coin look bigger somehow though. Or maybe it is just the lack of colour?

From the Mint's FB page: We just had to share this picture of a custom-built clock, created by a collector to proudly display the coins in the Mint's stunning Maple Canopy series.

IMO, looks like a defect. The modern NCLT should be perfect, or with real error. This spot more similar to some silver surface issue, rather than colorized area. Although it could fit "weird defect collection", but not worth dollar above issue price.

An error would be like where the name Jesus was misspelled "Lesus" on the Vatican Pope Francis medal a few weeks ago. Four of them were bought before they were recalled. I bet they are worth a lot of money. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...dal/2965195/

In the first one are produced millions and the only important is the face value, not the quality. But in commemorative coins, I like a PERFECT coin, if not, I give it back. But sometimes, the people is willing to pay more for coins with that "errors" so the demand is the boss

In the listing he said a coin shop offered him a pile of cash. I wonder if the pile of cash is greater than the $500 he wants on ebay. I certainly wouldn't pay that much for it.
