I don't even think about the cost of a coin when its in my box at home, the only time cost is considered is during its purchase. I give my self a budget every month to play with and I have to admit I spend a fair amount on coins and they are not my biggest expense, try having a sports car and a racing addiction
A set of race tires for my car is around $1500 they are good for two days.
NOT a good investment but oh so much fun
That being said I am cutting my coin collection down, at least I will try to lol
This bee coin is one I will not be buying, it has no place in my collection
If It was a quarter or dollar/loon I would buy in an instant though.
I think the cost is right in line with everything I've bought this year, very middle of the road pricing.
You can't go by the amount of silver, nickel, copper or gold these are little round pieces of art, not bullion or currency.

Why don't we continue this conversation a year from now. Let see what happens when all they hype over this coin and the current release dies down. Let see what happens when this coin becomes orphaned in your collections. Lets see if there is as much love for it then and if people second guess their decisions to buy this coin.

Here is the thing, I respect anybody's decision to do what they want with their money be it stupid or intelligent. God knows I've made some stupid decision in my past. Some I look back on with great pleasure and some I regret to this day. But when it comes to this coin if people are buying it as an investment that's a huge mistake. If people are buying it because all mint products are selling out they are making a mistake. There are many reasons to buy anything but I personally don`t see any reason to buy this coin. Lets see what people think a year from now. I`m now saying we should stop talking about this subject, I`m just saying lets resurrect this subject a year from now and see if anything has changed.

I didn't buy this coin because I didn't like how it looks and I don't think it worth my money to buy it. I think my money is better spend on other coins that I like. That being said, I would not be the one to tell others what coins they should like and how they should spend their money on their coins collection. We all work hard to earn money and we can spend the money the way we like.

I finally saw this coin in person and I'm on the fence about it. I don't think it's an ugly coin, but it's also not a "wow" coin for me. For the content, it's rather expensive. But I wonder if the next ones in the series will be great and I'll regret not buying this one because it's the first in the series.

SPP Ottawa your words are resonating through my mind...that was well said! I never buy a coin to sell, and I have chosen to buy this one, and likely will follow up with the rest of the series. The most valuable thing that I have learned as a collector, it is that you can never own them all , so pick and choose what appeals to you!

Absolutely valid point. Nobody should tell you what to do. Why is it then in another topic about buying gold plated pennies every body is saying don't buy it and so anti the product. After all isn't it the buyers decision in the end. If someone wants to spend $55 on a gold plated penny how is that any more stupid than buying this coin?

Buy the way the coin is priced between $80-$90 BIN and no auctions for this coin on ebay. Fun nobody want to take a chance auctioning this coin since the last one ended bellow issue price. If like the coin and must buy it my advice is wait until they are selling cheep on ebay.

Seems the email the RCM sent out yesterday must have spiked a bit of a sale, went from 154 in stock, to awaiting stock, now back to 129 in stock online. They're available again, FYI.

If there's no buying limit on a coin like 2 or 3, you can add up to 999 of that particular coin to your cart, it'll tell you if that many are available or not, and you just keep subtracting until it tells you that many are available.

Only 67 available tonight.

(Edited for my grade 2 spelling mistake)
